Vardy v Rooney - "nasty bitch"

Hunderland · 09/02/2022 01:19

Phone dropped in the North Sea? Everything 'unfortunately' wiped from devices?

YABU - those things really were totally coincidental that happened just after they were told to hand them in

YANBU yeah ...right...

They are both as bad as one another. I’m fed up of hearing about it now 🤢😡

They're really not.

Yes, they really are. CR has shown limited intelligence to think that she can tell 396 people something and it will remain a secret. She could have behaved like a normal person and just blocked RV but no, she thought it would be a wheeze to accuse RV publicly rather than deal with it privately. Anyone with any intelligence could anticipate that would not end well. She then decided to tell a judge that she wasn't accusing RV herself but anyone who was working with RV - a fact the judge dismissed out if hand. So brain of Britain she ain't. In fact a pigeon, as RV rightly described her, would beat her in the intelligence stakes.
RV could have just ignored it or laughed it off. But she doesn't have enough grace or wit to do that. Instead she decides to sue. Quite predictable as this lot seem to have more money than sense. And genius that she is claims that she dropped her phone in the North Sea because her belief is what? That a judge will be as thick as her and believe her?
The pair of them could have sorted this privately and donated the cost of this ridiculous trial to charity where it could have done some genuine good rather than buy a load of lawyers new sports cars.
They are a pair of thoughtless, over-priviledged, dimwits that have illustrated why people mock WAGS in the way they do.

UserBot9to5 · 09/02/2022 18:50

@Aderyn21

It's very dismissive of women generally to lump CR and RV together. As if CR is being petty to object to her private information being sold to tabloids! We've seen the harm this does to people's lives and relationships when they don't know how their personal lives are ending up in the papers. It must be horrible not knowing who you can trust.
I know, right, so surprised at the number of people lumping them in together
MarieIVanArkleStinks · 09/02/2022 19:24

I know, right, so surprised at the number of people lumping them in together.

You are? That's the surprise here, because it's fairly obvious that what most disinterested bystanders or semi-curious readers will see is two silly people behaving extremely stupidly. Anyone with even an atom of sense could have foreseen that some actions on both sides of this petty debacle were at best ill-advised. Dramatic public allegations and suing someone over a triviality are hardly reasoned, intelligent responses to a situation amounting to nothing more than a personal spat.

There's not a pin to choose between them for sheer ridiculousness. Of course people are going to lump them both together!

twominutesmore · 09/02/2022 19:32

I don't lump them together. I like CR. I like that she met WR before he was successful, so is a superior WAG imo. I don't blame her for being irritated that someone on her private account was leaking stories and I thought she revealed it cleverly.
V should've admitted defeat and apologised, cleared the air privately or dropped out of the public eye for awhile. Ridiculous to sue for libel when really everything points to it being true. The litany of tech mishaps just makes her even more of a joke.

ajandjjmum · 09/02/2022 19:50

Everyone needs to remember that what happens in not in the control of Colleen Rooney. If she stopped fighting, she would automatically be found 'guilty'. (I do know it's not actually a criminal case!)

She has to fight to clear her name.

Rebecca Vardy is the only one who can stop the court case going forward.

Pedallleur · 09/02/2022 19:52

Wasting their husbands money on lawyers and legal fees. Clearly too much time and money available. Their husbands could say enough, we are not funding this shit anymore. Cost over a million so far. Of course their legal advisors are v.happy

If Rooney's husband forced her to stop the action, a default judgement would be entered against her and she would have to pay damages and costs to Vardy. So no, stopping it is not an option for the Rooneys. Only the Vardys can stop this.
Elasmotherium · 09/02/2022 19:56

I must be missing something.

Why would it matter if her phone is damaged? Surely any evidence would be accessible from the cloud - photos, call history, sms messages, Facebook, insta posts etc??

It is Vardy's agent who has dropped her phone in the sea. Vardy managed to "lose" all the media from her conversation history when downloading it to her lawyers. The conversations in question were on WhatsApp so they will not be accessible in any other way.
ufucoffee · 09/02/2022 20:18

I know it's pathetic but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

LadyLyndon · 09/02/2022 20:22

I didn’t call her a Nasty B. I called her a Nasty C.

I honestly don't find it pathetic at all. The legal twists and turns are brilliant. First it seemed Rooney had Vardy bang to rights. Then Vardy started legal proceedings. Then a major ruling in her favour and it looked like Rooney was toast. Now this and it looks like Rooney's on top again, and data disappeared and phones walked the plank.

It's brilliant stuff.

Colleen Rooney in particular is pretty rich in her own right. Google seems to think about 15 million. No doubt the ad campaigns, book, column, properties etc came about because of who she's married to, but she's still a big earner herself. She can probably afford some hefty legal bills without having to trouble her husband's wallet.

Also they're both equally fucking stupid in having let things get to this stage, but it's RV who brought the legal action. CR can't just opt out of it now.

Rainbunny · 09/02/2022 22:30

I'll admit it here and nowhere else, this case has turned into a guilty pleasure to follow! What hubris from Vardy!

She must have been feeling boldly invincible to bring a libel case. In the age of forensic data gathering and reconstruction, she had an extremely false sense of security.

Toottooot · 09/02/2022 22:32

It’s Coleen and Rebekah. Not Colleen and Rebecca.

Hunderland · 09/02/2022 22:49

@LadyLyndon apparently RV did say "nasty bitch" in conversation mentioning CR but it wasn't actually about CR Wink

I don't know about you but something just doesn't sound right with that argument Grin

I don't know what century you live in but in our house there is no such thing as my husband's money or my money. It's all "our' money regardless of where it came from. That has always been the case although he often pays more in PAYE in a month than I earn in a year.

DH has been adamant that from the moment we married everything was 'ours'. That was moot when we met because we had similar salaries but when we had kids I gave up paid work to be a SAHM and Dv completely respects that as my equal contribution to our family life. For all his many, many faults it might be that Wayne Rooney does the same.

CR is worth in excess of £10m independent, so even without 'her husband's money' she is financially secure - more than most people will ever be.

The legal action was started by RV so she had no choice but to either fight the legal action or concede to all of RV's demands to dismiss it.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 10/02/2022 00:37

Independently not independent, that was meant to say.

nettie434 · 10/02/2022 01:19

I'm glad people have pointed out that both women have earned money in their own right.

Rather than their husbands saying 'enough, we are not funding this shit anymore', why is is so unfeasible that Jamie Vardy and Wayne Rooney wouldn't want to support their wives? Coleen has stood by Wayne for years despite the criticism she has received for doing so. Jamie and Rebekah Vardy got married when Leicester were in the Championship (Division 2 in old money) and he was not nearly so famous as he is today. Coleen and Wayne met at school.

Marchingredsoldiers · 10/02/2022 01:29

Someone else mentioned that RV is worth about 3 million.

Sorry to bring the mood down but that has properly depressed me. I hate my job. Am married to a lovely man, but he is not a huge earner. I have no choice but to fucking carry on getting up every morning and working my arse off for 12 hours for just enough.

Toottooot · 10/02/2022 04:02

Not true - a very quick Google search shows they married in 2016 - days after Leicester won the Premier League. He was pretty big time when they married.

nettie434 · 10/02/2022 06:45

That's what I should have done Toottooot instead of relying on my memory [embarrassed] but he was not so famous when they first got together in January 2014.

Monsterpage · 10/02/2022 07:02

@tentative3

They're quite happy for their DH's to have affairs and be shown up for it, yet most women I know think less of them for staying with a cheater. But yes, status is more important to them. Gives such a bad image to young women or men. Stay with a partner (especially if married) and it's ok if they're wealthy or you don't want it to be made public as long as you can keep you cushy life and gym/Wag lifestyle... hmm.

@Gonnagetgoing Surely CR would get an absolute fortune in any divorce and would easily be able to afford her own cushy life and gym lifestyle? It's hardly as if she's going to be looking for a job to make sure her bills are paid, is it? I also don't think she's any more responsible for what people think about her than any other woman who makes life choices that not everyone would agree with. In fact, playing devil's advocate (and for the avoidance of doubt I'm merely being an arse here, it's not what I think at all) does that mean it's even worse when women whose husbands are not rich and famous stay with those husbands after they cheat? After all, surely they have no reason at all, given there's no money.

I don't know CR and I can't say I think about her at all in my daily life, but she didn't go footballer hunting and I think that is worth repeating.

I haven’t watched the Rooney Netflix documentary but I think that Coleen is no idiot and does love him. As this poster said she didn’t put her Spanx on and go footballer hunting they have been together since they were 12 or 13. Coleen is very family focused and in fact they surround themselves with family and long-standing family friends. She has every right to defend her name. Team Coleen all the way.
longwayoff · 10/02/2022 08:29

And now, for crying out loud, Coleen and Wayne tell all about their relationship in a documentary. On Prime, soon. Make a date fans.
