I’ve had an iv for kidney infections and would have assumed most had one at some point but apparently not.

Never had one. Never spent a night in hospital either.

I doubt the majority have, though I doubt it's very rare either. I haven't.

Had several for different reasons, including childbirth. I also thought that stuff like that was normal but some people are just lucky I guess.
