I know it’s been done before but I’d love a slightly different spin on it.

You win the euromillions tonight. The rest of the night will be a blur.

You wake up tomorrow morning - what’s the VERY first thing you do?

No “I’d start a charity” or “I’d set up a dog rescue” etc etc as you wouldn’t do that TOMORROW - what would you do tomorrow?

Personally I’d just go shopping, buy loads of clothes, trainers etc (not designer as I’m not into that shit) have a nice lunch somewhere … go home and start looking on Right Move

I’m impressed with the people spending money beyond a meal! I wouldn’t make any big purchases (and thus blow my savings) until the money cleared in my account.

My understanding is that, once the verification is done, a five figure sum is transferred into your account immediately, pending a consultation with a financial advisor.

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

I'd ring the estate agents to view this house

It's about 10 miles away so still local for family etc.

Just in case you change your mind I am in the queue behind you though I am not at all sure about the sofas wrapped around the brick pillars.

As tomorrow’s Sunday I would email the estate agents of two houses I have my eye on. Very standard houses but that are extortionate based on where I live.

I don’t think I could do very much tomorrow because you need a few days for verification etc before they transfer an advance to start you off (I worked for a bank who dealt with lottery winners for a bit). Once I had the advance it would be holidays booked and spreadsheets of donations, plans.

If I could diplomatically come up with a way to suggest a divorce whereby we both are set up I would do that, but not sure I would be brave enough.

Book a fancy hotel somewhere like York for a few days to let it sink in. We have two dd 5 & 9mo so would be nice to get away and let someone else do all the cooking.

Take dd on a girls trip to London to see the frozen musical.

The first thing I would do is jump in a cab and go to my DB and go for a pint in his local and have a meal .
Close by there is a car show room that we walk past and admire the cars when ever we go out together , i would ask him if money was no object which would he like then go and buy it for him .
then i would tell him I had won .

Give up work. By a huge estate or farm. Fence it off, rewild it. Live happily ever after. 🙂

If there is still money left over I wouldnt mind some sort of foundation that looks at how alternative communities for the elderly/the ageing might best be developed, run and funded. Convinced there must be something better than the current system.

IncompleteSenten · 05/02/2022 15:39

Spend all day talking with my husband about what we were going to do .

I'd probably send him out for booze

Porcupineintherough · 05/02/2022 15:39

Ah I should have read the op more carefully. Got carried away.
So just the first then - give up work.
