I know it’s been done before but I’d love a slightly different spin on it.

You win the euromillions tonight. The rest of the night will be a blur.

You wake up tomorrow morning - what’s the VERY first thing you do?

No “I’d start a charity” or “I’d set up a dog rescue” etc etc as you wouldn’t do that TOMORROW - what would you do tomorrow?

Personally I’d just go shopping, buy loads of clothes, trainers etc (not designer as I’m not into that shit) have a nice lunch somewhere … go home and start looking on Right Move

I would clean and tidy my house, as planned, then think about what to do in a few days time, once it had sunk in.

Sausagedogsarethebest · 04/02/2022 15:30

I wouldn't go out on an immediate spending spree. If it was a huge win (ie a half a million or more) I'd start planning all the things I'd like to do with the money - who I'd want to share it with, what big purchases would I consider - maybe a house and a car. Plan a luxury holiday somewhere. I'd also consult a financial advisor so that I made best use of it and didn't just squander it.

Suzi888 · 04/02/2022 15:32

I would tell my family and write an epic letter of resignation. Go out for a meal and stay in an amazing dog friendly hotel. Wine

Rummikub · 04/02/2022 15:35

Buy my dd a velvetiser.
New shoes that aren’t in the sale.
Book a builder for extension
Buy my neighbours house for her.

And be free to not worry about money ever again.

BobHadBitchTits · 04/02/2022 15:37

Book into a hotel suite.

Spend the rest of the day on Rightmove.

Twixie2022 · 04/02/2022 15:41

If it was like tonight’s jackpot - I would probs not do anything until it was confirmed. Then seek out the best financial I could.

I would very quickly Though ask the bank for a final statement for mine and my brothers mortgages so I could just pay them off. Then I always know they have a home.

Then.. book a first class 5* holiday to Mexico. Always wanted to go first class lol.

emsmar · 04/02/2022 15:44

I'd probably go straight to my mums and take a LOT of champagne.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 04/02/2022 15:49

Well we'd be hungover, so strong tea and a huge pile of bacon sandwiches. Can't believe nobody has mentioned bacon yet.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/02/2022 15:54

Sit and stare at dh and think "what the fuck are we going to do?"

I think genuinely I would have too much nervous excitement to eat for a few days.

There would definitely be alcohol though! No tea for us!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 04/02/2022 15:56

Just seen its 107million so I'd stress out because that's a lot of responsibility to manage.

MissManagable · 04/02/2022 16:00

@BobHadBitchTits

Book into a hotel suite.

Spend the rest of the day on Rightmove.

I'd do this!
AllOfUsAreDead · 04/02/2022 16:02

Get it confirmed first.

Then book my dad in for the surgery he needs at a private hospital.

Then spend the rest of the day on right move. Grin While eating chocolate.

SeeminglyOblivious · 04/02/2022 16:23

Probably get a pen and paper and sit with DH, making a list of everyone we know who we'd want to give money to and try and work out how much we'd give them.

The most fun admin task ever Grin

SC215 · 04/02/2022 16:31

If I won tonight and got paid the money immediately, then tomorrow I would get the train to London with DP, sit in first class. Book into a nice hotel. Go shopping for a new outfit, get a blow dry and my nails done, have afternoon tea somewhere swanky like the Savoy or the Ritz, then some drinks and get expensive last minute theatre tickets for Moulin Rouge the musical. Basically blow a grand or two on a nice weekend. Then come home and carefully plan out what I want to do.

elp30 · 04/02/2022 16:51

I live in Texas so the lottery wins procedure is different.

It takes four to six weeks to verify your lottery ticket and winnings and get your money.

To answer the question OP, I'd still be me the next day and with my financial situation for four to six weeks. I suppose I'd take my adult kids out for breakfast at our favorite restaurant. I may even have the bottomless mimosas.

BitcherOfBlakiven · 04/02/2022 16:57

Start looking for

  • a Nanny
  • a house to buy
  • a driving instructor
  • the fanciest automatic car I can find
  • ridiculously luxury holidays for me 3DDs

Would still stay at Uni and complete my degree, because I don’t do well when I sit around doing nothing.

BitcherOfBlakiven · 04/02/2022 17:00

I wouldn’t be able to “do” anything until the money hit my account cos I’m a student and broke Grin

Adatwistscientist · 04/02/2022 17:01

I'd spend the day looking at Rightmove and maybe order a pizza. Then I'd probably book a person trainer to avoid the descent into obesity that would easily happen if I don't have work and I can afford to eat what I want.

Adatwistscientist · 04/02/2022 17:01

Personal. I don't need a person trainer. Or maybe I do!?

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 04/02/2022 17:01

Probably not much different to what I will be doing. I’d giggle a lot and start writing lots of lists and creating spreadsheets Blush

LethargicActress · 04/02/2022 17:04

I’d double check i hadn’t been hallucinating the night before, and would be paranoid until I could see the money in my account.

Then when I was sure, I’d make a list, do some internet shopping and book treat days and theatre tickets and holidays with the people I love. It would probably be a day on the phone in front of a computer.

Crepusculum · 04/02/2022 17:04

@BobHadBitchTits

Book into a hotel suite.

Spend the rest of the day on Rightmove.

Yeah probably this!

Although, I feel like I've already spent too much time at the aspiration end of Rightmove in preparation for such a day. I've already come to the conclusion there really is no such thing as an ideal home so I would then have to block out the angst by sampling the ridiculous price end of the wine menu.

Mommabear20 · 04/02/2022 17:07

I'd call them to arrange for transfer of the money. Then spend the rest of the day as usual, but spend the kids nap time planning how much I'd set aside for different things (house, holiday, savings etc).

Crucible · 04/02/2022 17:08

I'd go for a very long walk alone in my local park. I'd need a serious thinking/contemplation session and the park is where I do it for short periods - a lottery win would need a looooong walk..

And I've already planned to open a dog rescue if it happens... Sorry!
