David Beckham reveals wife Victoria has eaten the same meal every day for 25 years

Apparently Victoria Beckham will only ever eat grilled fish and steamed veg. Every day for 25 years. She says she won’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, red meat, or dairy.

AIBU to think life is too short to live without butter!

I’m sure he didn’t mean that’s what she has at every meal, every single day Hmm

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:27

Being in the spotlight and having people like you scrutinise everything she does!

Dear god!

What’s your weight and diet like flexible? Do tell!

GettingThemFromHereToThere · 01/02/2022 20:27

She clearly has an eating disorder and quite frankly I'm glad it's known she has a very restrictive diet.

It's important that young people and those in the fashion industry know it's not a natural body shape, that it's due to restrictive eating.

It's the same with Celine Dion. Clearly has an eating disorder but denies it. What message does that send to vulnerable women/girls?

Clymene · 01/02/2022 20:28

@RedToothBrush

Given what Japanese diets are like and the health and longevity benefits of it, why is anyway throwing insults or questions at Victoria Beckham.

If thats what she chooses to eat, fair play to her.

She isn't eating a Japanese diet. She's eating protein and vegetables. No carbs, no fats except in the fish.

Not the same thing at all.

tillytoodles1 · 01/02/2022 20:28

Kate Moss said "nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels". I wish I was that disciplined when it comes to eating.

Japanese diets include a huge variety of foods including meat, eggs and a lot of rice.

@AngryApple

I’d eat that too if I got to shag David Beckham!

SunshineArtist · 01/02/2022 20:28

Yes but that’s not how celebrity culture works when young girls see these celebs on a pedestal

That’s not her fault if people can’t think for themselves. Teach your kids about healthy eating, the correct portion size and that celeb/influencer culture is often as shallow as fuck and not as it appears. Get your kids interested in actual real life and all will be well.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:29

Some of the comments here are just awful, honestly!

At least there is a critical mass of people defending her, she’s not fair game just because she’s thin and successful!

BiscuitLover3678 · 01/02/2022 20:29

For anyone whose ever seen her in real life, she looks very unwell. I feel very sorry for her. At least grilled fish and veg is healthy. She must have very little of it.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 01/02/2022 20:29

Yo be fair, fish and veg can be the best meal on the planet if you buy great fish and cook it well. I'd happily eat nothing but King Prawns for the rest of my life. I love them.

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 01/02/2022 20:29

@IcedPurple

So what made her become so skinny afterwards?

I think partly her desire to be taken seriously in the fashion world, where anything above a size 4 is disgustingly fat.

None of the other Spice Girls became extremely thin.

None of the other Spice Girls become extremely thin??

Size 0, anorexia and eating disorders were part of the culture of the 90s

I’ve read this about her before. I don’t think it’s that sad. Fish and veg can be mixed up, plus she can have variety at breakfast and lunch. I am a creature of habit and although I like most foods since I’ve been working at home (in 1 day a week in the last year) I have eaten the same breakfast, snack and lunch. I change my lunch up around every 6 months. In winter I tend to have a warm toasted bagel thin (Turkey rasher and mushroom) and in summer I have toasted bagel and boiled egg. I’ll have something different on my office day and once back 2 days min per week I’ll have something else. I’m dieting so it helps and I don’t get bored.

IcedPurple · 01/02/2022 20:30

Given his reputation, you could be in with a pretty good chance.
BiscuitLover3678 · 01/02/2022 20:30

I find it concerning posters think it’s ok she has an eating disorder. So messed up. Hmm it wouldn’t be ok if she was obese.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:30

He made a comment about her dinner!
One meal!

There are at least two, probably more, eating occasions in the rest of the day!

RonCarlos · 01/02/2022 20:31

I thought it was well known that this was her diet. I expect this was affectionate teasing and that she wouldn't mind him saying it. They seem pretty happy as a couple and being in control of what you eat is key to managing an eating disorder, I thought? I can't see the problem. The DM have said he moaned, which I highly doubt. It's clickbait.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 01/02/2022 20:31

It sounds quite nice to me!

SunshineArtist · 01/02/2022 20:31

Japanese diets include a huge variety of foods including meat, eggs and a lot of rice.

And VB other 2 meals and snacks may well include many other foods. He didn’t give a run down of a full days eating for her, he made a passing comment about a meal she eats every day. I eat salad pretty much every day for lunch but my dinner and snacks vary.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:31

Who has explicitly said that it’s ok that she has an eating disorder?
IcedPurple · 01/02/2022 20:31

None of the other Spice Girls become extremely thin??

Granted I don't follow them closely, but I don't remember any of the others being anywhere near as thin as Posh.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:32

Not all thin people have an eating disorder! She may have a restrictive diet, most thin people do restrict more.

UserBot9to5 · 01/02/2022 20:33

I'd KILL him for announcing this to the world.

I watch my weight too, not as successfully as VB! But.. I wouldn't want anybody bleating it around that I weigh out my macademia nuts or that I mix a yoghurt with a plain yoghurt and eat half one day half the next.

These little things do help but to have it announced to the world makes it seem weirder than it is.

lucillelarusso · 01/02/2022 20:33

She has an eating disorder and has had since her early teens. He knows this and is being a cunt to talk about it. But he is a cunt so it's no surprise.

A580Hojas · 01/02/2022 20:34

There's a lot of celebrating low bmi and disordered eating going on here.

Such is life!

I look at my mother (age 90 and bmi 27.1) who has never been on a diet in her life and wonder how long we want to live for?
