David Beckham reveals wife Victoria has eaten the same meal every day for 25 years

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 01/02/2022 19:22

Apparently Victoria Beckham will only ever eat grilled fish and steamed veg. Every day for 25 years. She says she won’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, red meat, or dairy.

AIBU to think life is too short to live without butter!

@Tiramysu

She can eat what she likes. Who are you to judge
Just a bit of light hearted gossip. No need to take things so serious.
Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 22:57

I’m not her sister!
One of my children is good friends with her son through a sport they played.
I know Louise well, although don’t see her much these days and haven’t for a while!

ancientgran · 01/02/2022 22:57

I'd happily live on potatoes. New potatoes with butter, jacket potato with butter/cheese/chilli/baked beans, lots of fillings to choose from. Chips, mash, roasties.

You can't beat potatoes.

Is your username linked to her son’s name (your son’s friend), or is it just a coincidence?

And for the record, I know VBs sister very, very well! So make of that what you will!

Now we come to it, eh? The OP must be ruthlessly punished for commenting on a news story about your mate’s sister. You should try your luck on the DM comments.

@FromEden

Reminds me of when Jennifer Aniston said she allows herself to have one single crisp when she feels the need for junk food. One crisp. It's weird but we are supposed to applaud their superior willpower and also feel bad about ourselves for being normal human beings who enjoy food and sharing a meal with others.
Yes, I can understand that if you're a woman in show biz you kind of have to be super thin, so it makes sense for her. But for those of us whose livelihoods don't depend on being ultra skinny, I don't see this kind of 'discipline' as being especially admirable. It's not like they're eating this way to be healthy. They're doing it to stay extremely thin, which is not the same thing.
Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 23:00

And her sister doesn’t come on here, for reasons like this being completely honest!
Doesn’t read the papers either; I don’t blame her!

I imagine people who were joking about Caroline Flack and thought it light hearted didn’t realise the potential for impact on her either!

Or on Tilly Ramsey!

CounsellorTroi · 01/02/2022 23:01

I don’t eat unhealthily. No cakes, biscuits, crisps or chocolate, takeaway perhaps once every couple of months. I work out or swim every other day. I’m still fat. Bloody thyroid.

Who gives a stuff whether Posh’s sister is on Mumsnet?

What has Caroline Flack to do with Victoria Beckham’s miserable diet?

Are you seriously suggesting that nobody should have discussed the behaviour of Caroline Flack, a celebrity who enthusiastically courted publicity?

WildImaginings · 01/02/2022 23:03

@Quincythequince

The scientific literature says 18.5 - 23.5 for females!

Go look it up!

The NHS website is often wrong!

Give it a rest. You are now blatantly saying that OP is overweight. By .4 of a point, according to your 'superior' source.

She's not. She's within a healthy range.

It's YOUR attitude that's damaging and offensive, not the OP's.

ImInStealthMode · 01/02/2022 23:03

Completely up to her what she eats, and grilled fish and veg sounds delicious and still open to loads of variation. Honestly if I could have plain pasta boiled in very salty water every dinner I would, it's the most delicious thing.

Sadly a) I don't think I'd get a full compliment of nutrients and b) judgey fuckers would judge.

Yes, it’s an aesthetic choice not a health one. No one needs to have a bmi of 18.5 to be healthy.

I haven’t punished the OP at all! The OP hasn’t had anywhere near the same level of scrutiny she has seeded re VB.

I don’t read the Daily Mail.

Interestingly I came on here today for a thread about ‘invisible fat women over 40’ which was drawn to my attention (professional interest) and in which discussed women who are ignored and insulted, but for being fat!

And yes, I will defend a friend’s sister if I want to, she just happens to be my friends sister but I’d have down the same if people picked on other slim, successful females too.

Hang on, DB made the comments on a podcast with VB present. They are in the public eye. They obviously thought it was interesting enough information to share on a podcast (which I assume no one forced them to do). What are people meant to do- listen to them talk about it, and nod in silence and never speak of it again? It’s an interesting topic of conversation, and despite what you say I have not criticised VB’s weight and I can’t be held responsible for comments made by others (many of which have also been positive about how she looks and what she eats).

Ok I didn’t want to be drawn back in, so I really must go. Goodnight Louise, sorry Louise’s friend who’s username is named after Louise’s son.

Using loads of exclamation marks!
Doesn't make your posts any more compelling!
Or convincing!

@quincythequince

Exhausteddog · 01/02/2022 23:06

I think a lot of MN have ED. You see it on what have you eaten today (peak interest to people who have ED) and any criticism or comment on retailers using extremely thin (possibly photoshopped) models - every other poster proclaims that's a very representative size and they themselves are 6' tall and naturally a size 2. And of course we have lost sight of what a healthy weight looks like.
So VB will be someone people aspire to be like.

UserBot9to5 · 01/02/2022 23:06

Wow @flexibleworkingdenied 😲

If you start a thread to slag off another woman's diet, then you cant really accuse somebody else of being invested in to defending VB because they dont all agree with you that it's "sad" or unhealthy.
Nobody has to agree with you.

Momijin · 01/02/2022 23:06

What I think is sadder is people filling themselves up with processed crap

Benjispruce5 · 01/02/2022 23:07

Maybe that’s why she never smiles.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 23:08

Interesting wildimaginings that you think being called overweight is an insult!

Why is it an insult?

And you don’t have to like the 18.5-23.5 range, most people don’t when they hear this, or that it’s lower for ethnic groups, but I didn’t come up with the numbers!

Women are smaller, have way less lean mass naturally (which is more dense) and become overweight at a lower BMI for this reason!

Basic physiology.

Not still banging on about BMI are you

You’re doing well on your exclamation mark diet. Only two in your last post.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 23:12

Go back and read all your comments and posts flexible
Stop being so disingenuous about your intent here!

Just look at some of the stuff you have said.

I am not Louise, she doesn’t come on here!

The reference to Quince is a feminist one! Look it up if you’re interested, although your thread theme here don’t indicate any feminist leanings!
