David Beckham reveals wife Victoria has eaten the same meal every day for 25 years

538 replies

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 01/02/2022 19:22

Apparently Victoria Beckham will only ever eat grilled fish and steamed veg. Every day for 25 years. She says she won’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, red meat, or dairy.

AIBU to think life is too short to live without butter!

She's previously said she used to have an ED but I think it's very obvious she still does....but I imagine that is depressingly common in "celebs" who will be scrutinised for what they look like on a daily basis.
Often they say they're super busy or "forget to eat" or running around after children that are probably cared for by a nanny anyway and that's how they stay slim but I reckon most have some borderline EDs.
Considering she has the financial means (and likely a personal chef) as well as being invited to all sorts of restaurants etc , it seems a very disordered relationship with food to have the same meal every day. They're good friends with Gordon Ramsay - has she never tasted any of his dishes?

I say this as someone who had an ED for my teens and early 20s. I'm partly envious of her discipline but I also remember how utterly depressed and miserable i was to be hungry all the time and to deny myself treats.

@Mollymoostoo ok gorgeous 🙄 bitter isn’t better.

That's why she looks like a baked bean on a tooth pick.“

Just Rude. Are you physical perfection?

I don’t think it’s healthy but there’s just no need to be nasty.

FlexibleWorkingDenied · 01/02/2022 22:26

@Quincythequince I’m not meaning to be flippant, it’s honestly just getting a bit difficult to reply to you because I don’t really understand your angle. You specifically ask me about my diet and weight, but when I answer you say no one gives a crap about my diet and weight and confess you only asked me to “prove a point” but yet you’re not goading me. You say you haven’t called me fat, but you’ve called me overweight and said the NHS bmi calculator is wrong. You threaten to start a thread about my diet and weight but when I say ok, that’s fine you say you wouldn’t and no one would be interested (can only assume you were again trying to prove a point/goad/get a reaction).

Obviously I’m happy with my diet, it’s what I choose to eat. There are probably changes I could/should make here and there but on the whole it suits me (wouldn’t suit everyone). You can’t deny that eating the same very restrictive meal every day for twenty five years is the norm or usual. It’s unusual and interesting- the motivations behind it, the reasons for the choices, how difficult it is etc etc.

And another fun fact too, healthy BMI is different if you’re Caucasian vs Asian vs Black vs Chinese.

The value at which point you become overweight is highest for caucasians, and lower for all others due to the location of fat deposition, it’s 23 if you’re SE Asian.

NHS doesn’t tell you that either but it’s all easily verifiable online.

@cakeambush

It's an eating disorder being held up as admirable or aspirational. If you aren't interested in food you'll go with whatever. You won't insist on eating the same two foods every day.
I agree with this tbh. It isn't about putting down a successful woman or any of the other 'defensive' posts here. She isn't a healthy looking and is obviously very underweight. She does not need to be applauded for her 'willpower'. What strikes me as odd is why DB has spoken about it NOW?
Juanmariaramierz · 01/02/2022 22:29

Not read the whole thread....but plz tell me someone has said..."her body...her choice"...its on every thread on here.....

FromEden · 01/02/2022 22:29

Its sounds like a miserable way to live. I feel sorry for her, she clearly still has massive food issues if she won't loosen up the rules even once in a while.

User0458832 · 01/02/2022 22:31

All the food is the sort of stuff that people that count calories eat

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 22:34

Flexible nothing in any of my comments to you, is any different to what you’ve done here today!

You don’t think it’s a problem that you started the thread, so if it’s good for the goose…

Eat what you like, not my business and it’s probably nobody else’s either, and just because you don’t mind it being discussed, don’t think it’s generally ok, because it’s really not!

And calling someone overweight isn’t an insult - it’s a statement of fact!

Eating too much salt is a statement of fact!

Your bizarre speculation, in the face of no evidence about VBs weight etc is mealy-mouthed and small-minded.

The two things are not remotely comparable!

And for the record, I know VBs sister very, very well! So make of that what you will!

I could answer many of your speculative questions, but I’m not going to because it’s not your business and starting a tread to discuss it is a bit pathetic really!

People like you who talk shot about people in the public eye, are partially the reason they are so controlled! Just think about that!

Over and out from me!

@FlexibleWorkingDenied

Anyone remember the “fish and a rice cake” guy? Grin
From ‘Come Dine With Me’? Didn’t he die? He was in the news for something recently but I can’t remember what, sorry.
givemesteel · 01/02/2022 22:36

If she's eaten the same thing since they met he can hardly complain.

Personally that would be a deal breaker in a relationship as food is to be shared and enjoyed together and I would find their daily joyless steamed fish depressing after a number of years.

But maybe blokes secretly don't mind this if they have a wife that looks as great as she does as a result.

@Quincythequince I have to go now as my baby is up for the first breastfeed of the night so just feeding her now then going to try and settle her back down next to me in bed Smile So yes, let’s draw a line under our discussion there. Thank you for the healthy debate, all the best.

She has an eating disorder.

I can only assume she is a misery to be around a dining table when everyone else wants to get into the gravy, roasties and cauliflower cheese.

What a miserable life.

But as long as she looks stick thin it's ok, right?

CounsellorTroi · 01/02/2022 22:40

Ok, give or take a few grams her BMI is 18.5 which is normal.

5ft 4 and a BMI of 7.5st gives a BMI of 17.5 which is underweight.u

Bedsheets4knickers · 01/02/2022 22:45

It's up to her isn't it , at least she eats .
I don't leave the house without having 2 cups of tea . 🤷🏻‍♀️ who gives a shit

It’s not. It’s just over 18!

5’4 is 64 inches which is 1.63m
7.5 stone is 48kg

48/1.63/1.63 = 18.1 BMI

FromEden · 01/02/2022 22:53

Reminds me of when Jennifer Aniston said she allows herself to have one single crisp when she feels the need for junk food. One crisp. It's weird but we are supposed to applaud their superior willpower and also feel bad about ourselves for being normal human beings who enjoy food and sharing a meal with others.

Frollop · 01/02/2022 22:54

I think I remember reading years ago that this is her preferred meal as someone mentioned earlier.

Do people think that many people generally eat alot more than our bodies needs which often also includes unhealthy foods and snacks then years ago?

RaoulDufysCat · 01/02/2022 22:55

@peachandpearl

She's very thin, obviously, and always has been

She hasn't always been particularly thin. She was a very normal size when I worked with her pre-Spice Girls. Not by any means fat but with normal curves, probably a size 8-10. I don't think she is that size now several decades on. I think she is much thinner.

Oh, and she ate normal food when I knew her.

@Quincythequince Now I’m wondering if you are in fact VB’s sister Louise, as you’ve said you know her very very well, and your username Quincythequince matches one of Louise’s children, Quincy. Obviously that would explain your very strong feelings on the subject matter.

I just see it as a choice! Maybe she was joking about little junk food she can have.
Jennifer Aniston is not as thin as she was. She looks great, still very slim, but id say it's her choice.
