Heard a journalist on the radio the other day speculating it was not an accident and heard others saying the same. AIBU to think people like this are complete idiots?

I'm sure you choose not to believe it, @Monopolyiscrap.

PermanentTemporary · 05/02/2022 17:30

I agree re her being treated as a pure innocent later on when she had obviously grown up and was responsible for her actions, even if her personality was still distorted by it all

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 05/02/2022 17:38

@Monopolyiscrap

Not sure I believe that story about Diana. You would have to be a pretty wet blanket as a wife to leave and do nothing.
It's probably a little difficult to say "Get out of my house, you cheap tramp!" to a member of the royal family. Or was this after she was divorced?
IcedPurple · 05/02/2022 17:54

@DePfeffoff

I remember the wife of one of the men Diana targeted saying how Diana used to just turn up unannounced and would sit there in silence until the wife took the hint and buggered off, whereupon she could hear Diana spring into life and start chatting, laughing and flirting.

I must say, if she'd done that to me I'd have just settled down with a good book and refused to move.

I think the sainted Diana saw the wives of the men she fancied as a mere inconvenience. She certainly did not consider them an impediment to her pursuing a relationship with any man she took a fancy to.
Monopolyiscrap · 05/02/2022 18:22

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime you don't have to do that. But you also don't have to walk away and leave your husband with her. Seriously what kind of wet blanket would do that??

Monopolyiscrap · 05/02/2022 18:25

@IcedPurple Nobody is saying Diana was a Saint. But making allegations against a woman who is dead and can't defend herself seems pretty low.
If you have evidence post it. Otherwise, all this is just nasty speculation.

It's not speculation. Read any biography of Diana. She had several affairs with married men. These were the days before mobiles were ubiquitous, and she would constantly call the men's homes and hang up when the wife picked up.

Obviously, the men share at least as much of the blame as she does, but if Diana ever felt any guilt about the misery she was causing to their blameless wives, she never showed it.

SillyBud · 05/02/2022 20:31

if you felt you couldn't leave your husband in the trust that he wouldn't sleep with her then the marriage isn't worth saving anyway.

she also fell out with many people and froze them out of her life. She wasn't a saint but she was human and flawed like the rest of us.

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:18

@IcedPurple the affairs are not speculation, everything else is.
Lots of the Royal Family members have affairs. Why only criticise her for it?

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 00:20

the affairs are not speculation, everything else is

when you say 'everything else is' are you solely talking about the accident being a supposed murder? or do you mean other things?

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 00:22

Lots of the Royal Family members have affairs. Why only criticise her for it

Because none of the rest of them are presented as innocent saints by the media and by some royalists.

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:25

@SillyBud there is lots of speculation on this thread about Diana and how she behaved.
If I posted speculation about the sainted Kate, I would be banned. But Diana people can say whatever shit they want.

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:28

@SillyBud Some people talk about Kate as if she is a Saint.
I don't ever see anyone talking about Diana as a Saint. Even her greatest fans acknowledge she was flawed. Because she is a human being. Saints do not exist in real life.

Viviennemary · 06/02/2022 00:31

I have always thought there was something very dodgy about the way she died.

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 00:33

give me examples please of stuff that was said that's speculation?

I see nothing that wasn't verified. She had fall outs with many people like Elton John etc. This would suggest she was the difficult 1.

She was apparently so 'charitable' yet left not a dime from her vast fortune to any of them. This was true as her will was public record and it went mostly to her sons who had plenty already.

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:36

@SillyBud I have just reported something that is sheer nasty speculation. Read at end of page 14.
I have just googled and she did leave money to charities in her will.

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 00:36

go to the youtube comments and vast amounts of comments present her as a saint with 1000s of likes. Yes I am aware that public perception of her has changed in the last 25 years and people knew she was flawed and had her bad side but still there are enough people who think she could do no wrong.

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:38

@SillyBud why should I believe anything you say when you post things about Diana that are untrue?

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 00:46

One of many articles that mentions money and earnings Diana left to charities.

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 00:57

I have just reported something that is sheer nasty speculation. Read at end of page 14

but if 1 of the wives said it why report it? It's just a statement from somebody-could be true/false but people have the right to hear it.

I have just googled and she did leave money to charities in her will

then why did the charities criticise her after publicly saying she hadn't?

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 01:00

@SillyBud there is no evidence provided that a wife supposedly said that, not even a name.
Diana's will was published. So we know she left money to charities.
What evidence do you have that any charities said she did not?

SillyBud · 06/02/2022 01:00

why should I believe anything you say when you post things about Diana that are untrue

www.grunge.com/654227/heres-what-was-in-princess-dianas-will/
link says she left nothing to charity

Monopolyiscrap · 06/02/2022 01:03

@SillyBud the link you posted said she did leave money to charities but criticises the amount left.
Do you see why I don't trust what you say when even the link you post says something different from your own words?
