@Cornettoninja

I don't want to see Carrie Johnson come out of this unscathed

I mean she has had to hump that at least twice but yes, ikwym and agree.

It's one thing wanting Johnson out of office and then there are comments like this. Are you an oil painting? I'm certainly not.
SirChenjins · 27/01/2022 18:12

I took that to be a reference to his gutter morals rather than a comment on his appearance. He could be the most handsome man in the world but that wouldn’t negate how loathsome he is - it takes a special kind of person to want that in their bed.

jgw1 · 27/01/2022 18:20

There is no other way to describe the way the media are behaving over this.

There is an easy solution to that. The leader of the wrongdoers resigns.
If he had done that when the public first became aware of the parties, it would save nearly 2 months of scandal.

jgw1 · 27/01/2022 18:26

@the80sweregreat

Still , none if this has stopped him getting out the high vis today. Makes him think he is ' magic mike ' . I was eating my tea but been put off now hearing the word ' hump' and Boris in the same sentence 🤮
Do you think on his visits to Peppa Pig World he was disappointed it was Bob the Builder Land?
Blossomtoes · 27/01/2022 18:26

I think the media will keep the pressure up as long as he clings on. It may be that we’ll have to wait for the May local elections though. The place that really hurts is the ballot box and they stand to lose hundreds of seats.

Piggywaspushed · 27/01/2022 18:26

People also went to work, where they had refreshments...

Teachers were basically accused of being the whole reason why Covid spread in schools - in government press conferences - for even standing anywhere near a coffee machine.

Actually, to be more accurate, they were told children don't spread t, it didn't spread in schools and , if they had Covid , they must have had a cup of coffee with a colleague.

@derxa I’m bloody gorgeous…. And own a hairbrush.

Oh come off it there are endless comments on MN in a similar vein. BJ has a reputation for bedding many women. How did he manage it?
jgw1 · 27/01/2022 18:27

@JaniieJones
The other listed 'events' seem reasonable.

Are you saying that it is reasonable for the Prime Minister to have a birthday party, when denying that to millions of children?

the80sweregreat · 27/01/2022 18:27

I'm very plain and I own two lol brushes
No hope for me

Sure you are darling Wink

22itsallnew · 27/01/2022 18:30

@JaniieJones more specifically did you have primary aged children or younger that you homeschooled whilst also working at home to follow Government Guidance during the lockdowns Johnson announced?

No-one I know that went through many months of that is flippant about parties at No. 10 while they were painfully stretched as parent, teacher & employee. While their children were unable to see friends for months. Did your children miss exams or leaving events from school? Mine did. No leaving party for them. Johnson pledged educational catch-up. I have seen none for my child who was not allowed to attend school March-Sep 2020 and Jan-March2021. How did your DC cope with homeschooling?

I had to leave my mum entirely alone after she'd been widowed not long before Covid hit. We weren't allowed to travel across the country to see her. Can you imagine how lonely she must have been adjusting to living on her own for the first time in her life. There were NO bubbles in May 2020. Meanwhile No 10 had the champers on ice and Mrs Johnson and the decorator were bizarrely included in the No 10 food/booze 'work' gatherings.

I'm sorry you missed out on meeting a newborn and laying someone to rest. I'm surprised you are not more upset that the people leading the Government were holding parties while you were not allowed to attend such important, unrepeatable events.

Only hundreds?
Cornettoninja · 27/01/2022 18:33

@derxa mwah

Besides, old Boris isn’t above that kind of behaviour himself is he after basically calling Ian Blackford fat during PMQ’s yesterday. I don’t think I’m in a position to be held to a higher standard than our dear leader.

Cummings will certainly keep drip feeding, which is nobody’s fault but Johnson’s, given that he hired the man in the first place.

Blossomtoes · 27/01/2022 18:39

@jgw1, I’m not sure how many are up for election, it’s not all councils. All the London boroughs are up - and they only have a majority on seven of those now. It’s not county councils or most districts - sadly.

But isn't that the position of most posters on these threads. Moral Guardians of The Universe. As discussed earlier, I think Blackford and Johnson are puffed up buffoons. But the fat jibe was pathetic.

the80sweregreat · 27/01/2022 18:40

He fat shamed Nick Ferrari once too years ago : Nick found it funny , but I doubt that Ian Blackford did.
Considering that he isn't exactly a 'slim jim ' himself it was a bit much to be honest , plus making jokes about cakes was also a bit iffy
You need a thick skin to be a politician.

Notonthestairs · 27/01/2022 18:42

Not moral guardians - just stick to the law and don't mislead Parliament. Very simple.

Bit of a Trump is our Bojo.

Having seen him out jogging and those double chins, he should look at himself in the mirror.

Very weak Speaker, lets Bozo get away with anything, pulled up a Labour MP for stating his constituents think Bojob is a liar.

longwayoff · 27/01/2022 19:16

The Speaker. Oh, for John Bercow. Like him or loathe him, he'd tell the poltroon and his minions how to behave. Mr Hoyle is a little relaxed. Or, have I too, been corrupted by the lack of standards we're bring exposed to and encouraged to admire?

merrymouse · 27/01/2022 19:17

The liar thing is just an old rule. You can’t call a fellow MP a liar and you can’t mention the Queen.

SirChenjins · 27/01/2022 19:24

Nothing to come off here. Unbelievable as it is, Carrie is not the only woman to be willing to bed the revolting man. Quite what he has is any normal person’s guess, but it would seem that there are women plural who are willing to ignore his gutter morals and do similar.

the80sweregreat · 27/01/2022 19:26

Sir Kier Starmer mentioned the Queen last year at PMQs , but it was respectful. It was about her sitting on her own at the Duke's funeral whilst number 10 had one of its gatherings.
I suppose they can't say anything inflammatory but I wasn't aware of these rules to be honest.
