@Clavinova Had the Police come across a group of people celebrating a birthday in June 2020 what would have happened?

Had someone asked at one of the daily press briefings "is it ok to have a birthday party with 30 others indoors and can i go outside and celebrate in the garden?" (Remember the rule of 6)

(ref Sky news)

What do you think the scientists/politicians would have said?

PermanentTemporary · 24/01/2022 21:42

@Clavinova you sound absolutely desperate. The Danish PM shopped without a mask? Hold the fucking phone.

Johnson is a lying shallow degenerate with some good lines, and he always has been. Cummings is a crazy dangerous man to fuck over. Sunak is 5/4 on to be the next PM (yes I checked, I won a big political bet a few years back and I'm always looking for the next). Gove has gone to ground so I assume is fluffing either for Sunak or possibly Hunt. I hope it's not Hunt.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/01/2022 21:43

Well, they've got a pretty hectic schedule of strip-searching women on scant justification and in humiliating and dehumanising ways; trampling over memorials to murdered women; brutally arresting female protesters; covering up for colleagues accused of indecent behaviour, and abducting, raping and murdering women before burning their dumped bodies in a ditch. It's hard to know how they'd fit investigating breaches of the law in around all that.
Precisely.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/01/2022 21:43

Clavinova Do you think it is appropriate for the Prime Minister to be having birthday cake with friends whilst telling children that they cannot do the same?

Save your breath, jgw1 - you must be aware by now that questions like this are never answered, and the best you'll get is another irrelevant link

In fact the reluctance to answer a question's so extreme that I'm genuinely wondering if this poster is a politician, even if it's just at a local level

kickupafuss · 24/01/2022 21:44

When is he going to go? Or is holding out for a war in Ukraine to save him?

Blossomtoes · 24/01/2022 21:45

@kickupafuss

It’s too late. This has to be the last straw, surely?
OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/01/2022 21:45

MrsAmaretto Flowers I'm so sorry.

^this... if he could, he'd start one.

Oh I have had interactions with them before, I know what they are like, but for me it is the key question for anyone who tries to support Boris or the motley collection of ministers that follow him around.
Clavinova · 24/01/2022 21:47

Roussette

Well, I don't think much of Joe Biden or Macron - you probably support both. And did you see this last week?

Calls for French minister to resign after announcing Covid protocol from Ibiza.

Not forgetting Nancy Pelosi -

This one does feel different to me.

needmoreshinys · 24/01/2022 21:50

I am now just here to see if @Clavinova is going to answer the question.

Between here and twitter its a fun evening

22itsallnew · 24/01/2022 21:51
Unwelcome as this latest revelation is for Johnson, it takes attention away from the government's writing off of £4.3b in Covid business loans fraud, and the resignation of Lord Agnew in frustration over the whole affair:

www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jan/24/minister-resigns-in-protest-at-handling-of-fraudulent-covid-loans
That's on Johnson too - they could choose to pursue it
£4.3 billion of taxpayers money is quite specific. If they know the amount why don't they hold the fraudsters to account? I suspect it's probably more

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 24/01/2022 21:51

And the Swedish PM.CAUGHT covid. Can you believe it. Catching an infectious disease in the middle of a pandemic, while following the rules. She should hand her head in shame. But at least it shows how jolly spiffing Johnson is by comparison.

Mandy63l · 24/01/2022 21:51

@Clavinova what about actually asking the questions, instead of resorting to all of the Whataboutism?

None of these people told me I couldn’t visit my dying loved ones, Boris Johnson did. I obeyed him, because it was the right thing to do. He laughed in my face, spitting fucking birthday cake crumbs all over me as he did it.

Stop bloody deflecting. This country is in the biggest mess in my life time - that’s almost seven decades - with a completely amoral and corrupt egotist in charge. And, not only do you defend him but you seem to think it’s some kind of game. I’ve never been scared before but I am now because apparently no kind of lunacy is too much right now. It’s like being governed by toddlers.

MarshaBradyo · 24/01/2022 21:53

The letter from little 7 year old Josephine is a clincher

That is very sweet and sad

ConstanceL · 24/01/2022 21:53

It's enough to make you think 'better the devil you know'

Surely there must be a grown up in the party somewhere who could be their leader - or would it have to a current minister?

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 24/01/2022 21:54

What does Chris Whitty have to say about all of this?

I'm hoping Sunak is fucked now that Agnew resigned so dramatically. Agnew's speech was very clearly criticising Sunak.

Don't forget also taking selfies with the bodies of murdered women.

How on earth is Cressida Dick still in her job? Her and Johnson seem to be cats with 10,000 lives! It make no sense to me.

Honestly, after 2 years of bullshit (excluding the Brexit stuff that came before) that’s the one that has done for me.

Lying to Parliament I’ve come to expect, but that’s a whole new low. 😢

Sir Whitty seems to have gone into hiding. Wonder if he was at any of the parties

As the Guardian article points out there has been no suggestion the minister broke any rules (French or Spanish) were bent or broken…OTOH he was pretty darned guilty of a major political faux pas…
