Here's mine:

Otrivine nasal spray is an absolute saviour! I only discovered it last year and I've had some absolutely horrendous colds made better by using this stuff. It completely clears your nose within minutes. I went from not being able to breathe through my nose at all, to being able to sleep through the night with my airways clear. Amazing.

Would love to some other good medicine cabinet tip offs!

SuPerDoPer · 23/01/2022 20:55

The pen thing that you can use on stinging nettle rash. Always take it camping.

UncomfortableBadger · 23/01/2022 20:57

Peroxyl mouthwash - not just excellent for sore gums but I gargle with some each time I feel the faintest inkling of a sore throat and it disappears entirely overnight. It’s stopped several colds in their tracks for me over the years

MaryPoppinPills · 23/01/2022 21:02

covonia throat sweets - worked a treat when I had covid sore throat

ButtockUp · 23/01/2022 21:04

Magnesium sulphate paste and germolene for drawing boils , splinters and other localised infections out.

Sexnotgender · 23/01/2022 21:06

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

Tyrozets (if you can find them - suspect they are discontinued). The only thing that has ever helped a sore throat. They are chalky little discs and they numb the throat and have an antibiotic in them too.

amazing

You’ll be gutted to know they’re definitely discontinued 😫😫

They are amazing, I’ve got 2 tubes I’m keeping for emergencies.

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 23/01/2022 21:07

Magnesium sulphate paste. Always surprised people don't know about it - so useful
Savlon
Buscopan for random stomach cramps
Liquid piriton
Rennies
Sudafed

TickleMyFanny · 23/01/2022 21:09

J collis Browne

Only thing to help soothe my chest in the middle of the night when I have a really bad cough. Also it's really good if you just feel a bit off - a wonder liquid!

Hard to get hold of these days though

theDudesmummy · 23/01/2022 21:13

Antipeol is pure magic for nappy rash, sore bums from diarrhoea at all ages, and any other skin irritation. It cures severe nappy rash in 24 hours.

MintyGreenDream · 23/01/2022 21:13

Olbas oil for blocked noses. used it for 30 years

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 23/01/2022 21:13

Vicks Vaporub
Buscopan
Arnica Gel

Fenistil Gel for everything skin related, including sunburn. It's magic.

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2022 21:13

Panadol (might be all in my mind but works more quickly than Paracetamol for period pain).
Gaviscon-don't waste time on any other heartburn remedy.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 23/01/2022 21:15

Thermacare lower back and hip wraps. Saved my sanity waiting for spinal surgery
Agree with otrivine!

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 23/01/2022 21:16

Mopiko the gold standard for bites, stings, heat rash.

I haul it back from Asia. Loads of stock piled tubes in the bathroom.

Patty101 · 23/01/2022 21:17

@ofwarren I came to say that throat spray too. Don't know anybody who would bother with Difflam again after trying that one.

ImSoMagical · 23/01/2022 21:18

I second germolene and savalon, they're 'magic cream' for my kids. Go on everything. Sore toes, fingers, scratches etc etc 😄

Amiable · 23/01/2022 21:20

Covonia cough medicines - amazing stuff, really helps

Eurax - helps soothe itching and can even be used around the vulva.

Ricola herbal sweets, really help sooth a sore throat and you can take as many as you need, unlike medicine which you can only use once every 4-6 hours.

Halfabag · 23/01/2022 21:23

I think the best throat spray is covonia, personally. Bisodol tablets for indigestion/heartburn/trapped wind. Works fast it’s amazing but does make me burp a lot til it’s out so maybe take them alone! Blush

MenopauseSucks · 23/01/2022 21:23

Imodium...

'Nuff said.
