To think this dessert was a bjt

We went to OH’s friend’s house last night for a meal. They went into the kitchen and brought out dessert. They had bitten the heads off hollow chocolate rabbits, filled them with Baileys, put squirty cream on top and were pretty pleased with themselves, let me tell you. I looked around for something else and they said that I’d reminded them that they’d forgotten something. I hoped it was a cheesecake but no, they came back with indoor sparklers which took a faff to light, then the cream melted and the sparklers melted the chocolate and I had a plate of mess.

OH and I are still confused about this. AIBU to think cheesecake would have been easier?

Surely easier and more appetising to buy some meringue nests and fill them with fruit and cream.

There is no way they bit the heads off. Either they were on a wind up to make OP believe that, or OP is on a wind up to try to make us believe that.

I think this post shows the danger of watching too much Masterchef. You start off by deconstructing Black Forest gateau or apple crumble and end up deconstructing bunnies.

tbh sounds like they tried something and it didnt work.. i would have laughed and moved on, you seem a bit up tight

I'd have put the heads back on top of the cream then it would have looked as if the bunny had had its head blown off by an exploding internal alien. Which would be a fun dessert.

That could work, especially with a drizzle of raspberry coulis tucked under the head.

In theory, good choc, baileys, cream and chocolate sauce all sound good and should go together well. Like a luxourous chocolate liquor, and probably look great too.

But, how the fuck do you actually eat them?

Depends on the size of the chocolate! I prefer them in the bite size reindeer/bunny/teddy. Then you can either just eat the entire thing (I can't as I don't have a very big mouth so it tends to make quite a mess trying, but most people manage) or drink the baileys and eat the chocolate in bites or whole (not too messy as dregs of baileys just sit in the bottom of chocolate). The bigger chocolate shapes you just drink the baileys and nibble the chocolate from the top down. You just need to be a bit logical about where you drink from/what you nibble. Or use a straw, as I said, the very small chocolate shapes are the easiest. We tend to make our own as we go.

I think it sounds fabulous and I shall be serving Baileys Easter bunnies to my family as dessert. Chocolate and alcohol, what’s not to like? I’d supply straws for drinking the contents and you can eat your chocolate bunny with your hands.

Any kids and we use milkshake instead of baileys and if I can be bothered melon ball suzed ice cream and let them st the buttons/sprinkles

And this is why it's a Treat!! Christmas/Easter... occasionally birthdays!!

Thankfully I have a good supply of bleach!! I might even have some left over mini chocolate reindeer....
