To think this dessert was a bjt

We went to OH’s friend’s house last night for a meal. They went into the kitchen and brought out dessert. They had bitten the heads off hollow chocolate rabbits, filled them with Baileys, put squirty cream on top and were pretty pleased with themselves, let me tell you. I looked around for something else and they said that I’d reminded them that they’d forgotten something. I hoped it was a cheesecake but no, they came back with indoor sparklers which took a faff to light, then the cream melted and the sparklers melted the chocolate and I had a plate of mess.

OH and I are still confused about this. AIBU to think cheesecake would have been easier?

It's much weirder that you looked around expecting something better, than that they made this dessert.

Mellowyellow222 · 23/01/2022 10:58

Did they really bite the heads off?

Poor manners from guests, but also if they took a bite then expected you to eat it that is disgusting.

For future reference you can politely decline dessert. No need to look around expecting something else to be served.

Chewbecca · 23/01/2022 11:01

What's a bjt?

MichaelAndEagle · 23/01/2022 11:02

I'm sure it wasn't really bitten off.

godmum56 · 23/01/2022 11:02

ermmm joke? (tv ad.)

ChargingBuck · 23/01/2022 11:06

I looked around for something else

Wow.
It your friend's house actually a 1970's restaurant with a sweet trolley?

DiddyHeck · 23/01/2022 11:06

What is a bjt?

Don't be silly, of course they didn't bite the heads off Hmm

Blinky21 · 23/01/2022 11:08

That's rank, I'd have laughed along but would not have eaten it

ChargingBuck · 23/01/2022 11:08

I fancied making them myself but then realised I couldn’t be arsed.

@Pikaso, just for this comment, you have my undying devotion.

cheekychaplin · 23/01/2022 11:08

It was reindeer wasn't it?

DoctorManhattan · 23/01/2022 11:09

Was this on Come Dine with Me? Grin

PupInAPram · 23/01/2022 11:10

If they literally bit the heads off, aren't you eating their saliva? Envy (not envy).

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/01/2022 11:10

Perhaps was used as it’s killing the bunnies? Sounds meh. Not a pudding. An odd after dinner drink.

viques · 23/01/2022 11:10

@rc22

The only part that worries me is that they bit the head off. Surely they broke or cut them off.
And who got to eat the heads? That’s the important question, are bunny heads the new cooks perk, like licking the spoon when you are making a cake?
Coasterfan · 23/01/2022 11:12

YABU. Cheesecake is vile 😀

JurgensCakeBabyJesus · 23/01/2022 11:15

I don't like Bailey's so wouldn't like it, and it's more of a faffy drink than a dessert but they've tried to do something fun. Maybe they are showing you they are tired of cheesecake every time

PriamFarrl · 23/01/2022 11:16

What is BJT?
Did they really bite the heads off rather than cut?
Are you always so ungrateful?

PrincessNikla · 23/01/2022 11:17

They had bitten the heads off EW!!

WonderfulYou · 23/01/2022 11:17

Jealousy is not a good look.

ChargingBuck · 23/01/2022 11:18

Tonight, I am treating pals to dinner at my gaff.

In a splendid tableside presentation, I will be biting the heads off live rabbits, flambee'ing them ostentatiously in baileys, sticking a sparkler up each fundament*, & serving on a bed of cream.

Would you care to join us, OP?

  • rabbit fundaments, not guests. Although who knows where the heady evening may take us?
Noisyneighneigh · 23/01/2022 11:18

Sounds rank and I like all of those things. You are being a bitch however to say they bit the heads off if they didn't. Did you see teeth marks? It's a shame that everyone's calling them disgusting if they didn't actually Sad

MollyQueenOfSocks · 23/01/2022 11:18

I love everyone here getting upset and offended OP didn't like the deserts. They literally put their dirty mouth on the desert, took a bite and then served it up in a complete fucking mess.

You would think we aren't living in a pandemic - even so I don't want my friends spit all over my fucking desert, no matter how close we are!

LookItsMeAgain · 23/01/2022 11:18

I thought in the advert, the host puts a slice of vanilla icecream into the Lindor rabbit but I'm not sure. I don't think that I'd be very impressed with that as a dessert even if it didn't melt into a pile of goo on a plate or in a bowl.

drpet49 · 23/01/2022 11:19

Shit and lazy dessert.

JugglingJanuary · 23/01/2022 11:19

I've made these for years! If you like Baileys, there's nothing not to love, drink the baileys, eat the chocolate coated in baileys. Best done with small reindeer/bunnies/teddie you can't eat pretty much whole or it gets a bit messy, but still good.

I bite the heads off for me, but break/cut them off for others ir they bite their own!!
