To think Adele’s been shockingly unprofessional?

Adele was due to start a Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace this weekend and cancelled the entire thing less than 24 hours ahead of time, saying they weren’t ready for a number of different reasons.

FIL had bought tickets to the opening night for himself and MIL as a 40th wedding anniversary present, they had pretty much just checked into their hotel when she announced it wasn’t going ahead, and the cost of that and their flights is now money down the drain. DH and I and BIL and SIL were planning on taking them away for a family weekend at Easter but have instead offered to pay for travel and accommodation when (if?) it gets rescheduled.

I get that covid is fucking a lot of things up for a lot of people, but surely they could have faced reality a bit sooner? Even one more day’s notice would have saved so many people taking flights and checking into hotel rooms that they could have rebooked or been refunded for.

While I wouldn't cross the street to see her in concert, let alone an ocean, it does seem completely out of order to give such short notice. If she is not ill herself then no excuse not to do the shows, and if people are prepared to travel so far and pay so much then they'd be happy to see her with or without fancy lighting/special effects/dancers or whatever. A singer and a microphone, surely that would be enough? Very very unprofessional.

I don't get the "Rich sends his love" bit. He's not a celebrity and she is usually fairly private. Is it to show the rumour breakups are false?

It will be interesting to see what she says on Graham Norton. He won’t be tough on her, but I think it’s going to be important what she says and how she says it, in terms of regaining the trust and support of her fans. People evidently didn’t buy her original announcement, and the various stories which have come out since don’t help. So she has to be credible.
She could do with some really good PR advice, for sure.

She's now saying she wants to get having a second child out of the way before she reschedules Vegas.

She will never reschedule Vegas.

Can't stand her shouty voice. When "Someone Like You" comes on, I have to talk over it, if I am in a bar. Horrible dirge and she has become a diva since her LA move. Overrated and reminiscent of the other annoying voice, Duffy. Amy Whitehouse was in a different league. Her selfishness and entitlement doesn't come as a surprise.
