To think Adele’s been shockingly unprofessional?

Adele was due to start a Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace this weekend and cancelled the entire thing less than 24 hours ahead of time, saying they weren’t ready for a number of different reasons.

FIL had bought tickets to the opening night for himself and MIL as a 40th wedding anniversary present, they had pretty much just checked into their hotel when she announced it wasn’t going ahead, and the cost of that and their flights is now money down the drain. DH and I and BIL and SIL were planning on taking them away for a family weekend at Easter but have instead offered to pay for travel and accommodation when (if?) it gets rescheduled.

I get that covid is fucking a lot of things up for a lot of people, but surely they could have faced reality a bit sooner? Even one more day’s notice would have saved so many people taking flights and checking into hotel rooms that they could have rebooked or been refunded for.

I think Celine Dion was also married to her manager?

She was widowed young, which is sad, but there was quite an age difference.

That's when they first met....I don't think there was ever any suggestion that anything started before she was an adult?

48 is pretty young to be widowed, I think, even if it's not a surprise.

That Instagram is pretty off, to me. The tone is all wrong. It seems a bit gloaty, pass agg or something.

I had tickets too! First weekend of Feb.. (this weekend) we fly out Thursday.

Gutted. But we’re out there 5 days and have other plans now.

Fine for Mr Norton and fine for the Brits. And Rich is fine.

Just not fine enough to be ready for fans that have dug deep.

I’m sure not one fuck will be given by them for my opinion. Which is fine as the feeling is mutual.

Not just the fans but what about all the tech people/musicians/designers who have lost work? Adele apparently uses non-union people so I’d think it’s unlikely they’ll still get paid. (Then there’s the venue itself, sponsors, merch people, suppliers, etc. - a whole lot of very lucrative contracts potentially in breach). She’s left a lot of people high and dry.
But hey, so long as everything’s fine with her and Rich!

I’m sure she’ll do some performative blubbing for Graham. Whether she’ll be able to squeeze out some actual real tears (unlike her dry-eyed “ain’t happening” Instagram) remains to be seen.

My guess is that her actual manager (who uprooted his entire family to the US because she did) had no idea about the cancellation until she did the big public boo boo. And is like to think he calls it a day at this point. How much money do you need for title hassle? The Brits are a special thing for her - it’s a charity event which supports the school she went to that made her a star - her manager went to listen to kids singing at the school and discovered her (his uncle was a school governor).

God riddled with typos. Just seen the Perez rumour posted above - If anyone is firing anyone, it won’t be her firing the manager. Her will walk because of her behaviour (& the golden goose appears to have committed career suicide. She’s currently unworkable)

Can't get a show together for Vegas but can pull it together to do brits and Graham Norton 🤔
Morally that's wrong but also legally it seems to like breech of contract I'm sure Ceasers Palace could afford some very good lawyer's.

It's a diva being a person. Highly unpredictable emotional behaviour.

The reason she's done this is also she's an amazing singer. Basically she's a difficult star. Always has been.

I'm not sure the bf has helped much here though. She needs someone by her side.

She's running around after him and thousands if not millions have lost money and been upset and had their lives disrupted as a result.

Maybe needs a new bf??
