To think that Angela Rayner could be PM one day.

I just think she's a breath of fresh air. She's real and authentic, she's come from a poor upbringing. She was her mums carer age 9, was a teenager mum, worked in social care and worked her way up the ladder. I just find it amazing that she's achieved all of this from how her life started. If she was running for PM and the next general election I will definitely be voting for her.

The funny thing is, as a lifelong Lib Dem voter I could see myself voting for a Keir Starmer-led Labour party if it meant removing the current shower.

What puts me off - besides my abhorrence at being offered Cunty Corbyn when I would happily have voted Labour if it stopped Brexit - is people like Rayner, Rebecca Wrong-Daily, and Richard Burgon. They are a bunch of gobby oafs and should never be let anywhere near the reins of power.

I admire what she’s achieved in her life but there is 0% chance of her ever being PM. If the general public couldn’t tolerate the thought of Corbyn, there is no chance of them coming close to voting for AR in any significant numbers.

I'll be honest I didn't know much about her. Just listened to the Nick Ferrari interview Shock

I'm working class and brought up in a council house. I could have done better. She had no clue.

x2boys · 19/01/2022 12:21

God no ,she's a vile bully .

nomoneytreehere · 19/01/2022 12:22

Whilst Westminster having someone with her life experiences speaking in Parliament can only be a good thing the thought of her leading the country on a world stage is laughable. She is inarticulate and doesn't come across as particularly intelligent. It won't happen as more people will dislike her than like her, including people from a similar background to her.

No. She’s an embarrassment.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 19/01/2022 12:25

All of the above is largely irrelevant anyway. No way is Labour voting in a female leader.

GrandDuchessRomanov · 19/01/2022 12:25

God I bloody hope not! Nowt to do with her background as I too am WC and grew up in a council house.

She is awful.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 19/01/2022 12:27

Are you her publicist OP cos you’re going to have to do better than this if you are Grin

Like everyone else has said - I’m all for social mobility and getting people into government who are a world away from the Eton and Oxbridge set, widening access - but she’s a really poor example, doesn’t come across as very bright and seems to be way out of her depth.

Moonmelodies · 19/01/2022 12:27

She would have to join the Conservative Party in order to become PM, and that seems unlikely.

samsalmon · 19/01/2022 12:28

I also agree with the ‘gobby oaf’ description. No better than Boris really, just a different shade.

MarshaBradyo · 19/01/2022 12:28

I hope not, can’t bear her

Saucery · 19/01/2022 12:31

She does a huge disservice to the Northern, Working Class women I know who have achieved and excelled in their careers after coming from similar backgrounds. Any one of them I would encourage into politics. AR is an embarrassing cliche.

anotherchocolate · 19/01/2022 12:32

@IndigoC

I’d much prefer Lisa Nandy. She’s very bright and an eloquent speaker.
Heat. Light. Heat. Light.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 19/01/2022 12:32

Good Lord, I do hope not. Coarse, untrustworthy, thick as mince, and apparently unable to tell what a woman is.

I'd take Boris over her, which is about a low a bar as it gets right now.

MinglingFlamingo · 19/01/2022 12:33

God I hope not

EvilPea · 19/01/2022 12:34

She’s too divisive, Labour would be stupid to have her as a leader if they want to take votes from usual conservative voters. Pretty much any party that can find a middle right now will be voted in.

Regardless if you like her or not there’s a big proportion of men who would not vote for a loud younger woman. There’s a reason thatcher had to sound more male, liz truss has started it now as well.

FKATondelayo · 19/01/2022 12:34

As a working class woman, the daughter of a single mum from Manchester who also happens to be a carer and the sister of a teenage mother I would like to say - FUCK NO. YABU.

The best I can say about AR is she proves that you don't have to have gone to Eton to be a nasty, mendacious idiot. She is just the different side of the coin to Jacob Rees Mogg - someone who thinks her personality and background count more than her actual abilities and accomplishments.

That said she does have great hair.

EvilPea · 19/01/2022 12:35

Vaccines. Sue Gray. Vaccines. Sue gray.
