To think that Angela Rayner could be PM one day.

I just think she's a breath of fresh air. She's real and authentic, she's come from a poor upbringing. She was her mums carer age 9, was a teenager mum, worked in social care and worked her way up the ladder. I just find it amazing that she's achieved all of this from how her life started. If she was running for PM and the next general election I will definitely be voting for her.

"A laughing stock on the world stage"? 'First cast out the mote in thine own eye'.

@TooBigForMyBoots

When did she call Tory voters "scum" *@Davina69*?Shock
She didn't.
daimbarsatemydogsbone · 24/01/2022 10:19

@ItsCoachBombay

Oh god no! Every time I see her speak or stand up I eye roll.
why?
daimbarsatemydogsbone · 24/01/2022 10:21

She called Tory's[sic] scum.
I hope you aren't one of those complaining about her standard of English.

TooBigForMyBoots · 24/01/2022 11:50

@Davina69, read your link, she didn't call any voters "scum". Its weird that you still think she did.Confused

sessell · 24/01/2022 11:55

@PronounssheRa

Both Angela Raynor and Lisa Nandy signed a pledge which committed to expelling women who raise concerns about women's rights and safeguarding, from the Labour Party.

Lisa Nandy also thinks any male, including rapists who self declare themselves as women should be housed in women's prisons if they commit crimes.

So it's a no from me.

This. I'd never forgive this betrayal of women's rights. And anyone with this level of poor judgement is a complete liability.
Ilovegreentomatoes · 24/01/2022 12:26

Mumsnet snobbery at its finest.

OhWhyNot · 24/01/2022 12:49

I’m so disappointed in Lisa Nandy

She used to speak out not necessarily following leadership which is needed from our MP’s but now sadly she does and jumped on the men can be women bandwagon

Nanny0gg · 24/01/2022 15:38

@Ilovegreentomatoes

Mumsnet snobbery at its finest.
Nonsense.

What is her grasp of world affairs, economics and history?

HermioneWeasley · 24/01/2022 15:39

She’s thick as mince.

Just because our current leader is awful doesn’t mean we shouldn’t seek for better in our next leader.

Endlessrunner · 24/01/2022 15:54

@Ilovegreentomatoes

Mumsnet snobbery at its finest.
😂😂 because people have a different opinion than you?

Boo fooking hoo.

TooBigForMyBoots · 24/01/2022 16:12

Perhaps there is an element of snobbery about this. I have seen many criticisms of her that could be laid at PM Johnson's feet. Are the double standards because he went to Eton and she went to state?

Peaseblossum22 · 24/01/2022 16:23

Actually I think that’s true, I want boring competent leadership. I don’t want name calling I want critical thinking skills , I don’t want showmanship and shouting I want someone who can analyse data and make strategic decisions . I don’t want a disrespect for education and snobbery ( Johnson) or inverted snobbery ( Rayner) .

Batholemubrecht · 24/01/2022 16:35

Love the random thick as mince or common as muck insults. And then the faux 'the red wall tories won't like being called scum' rubbish. The hypocrisy is amazing Grin.

Xoxoxoxoxoxox · 24/01/2022 17:26

No, she called the Tories scum.

XingMing · 24/01/2022 19:56

And as she/Labour will need some people to switch sides in the next election, then it might not be clever to label Tories 'scum'.... which rather proves she was playing to her own gallery and not the whole electorate, surely?

Batholemubrecht · 24/01/2022 22:59

I think plenty of people will be switching sides. The behaviour of this shameless conservative shower has alienated more tory and swing voters. Cos obviously actions speak louder than words.

Nice try but having an accent doesn’t make you exempt from being called out for being thick, especially if you really obviously are thick - as she is.
TooBigForMyBoots · 25/01/2022 00:29

It seems to exempt PM Johnson.😆

Yes and I'm one of them
XingMing · 25/01/2022 08:35

My vote is definitely up for grabs at the moment, but it's unlikely to be awarded to any candidate hurling insults and abuse! However, there's a distinct shortage of reasoned argument or fresh thought in current politics.

Another one here.

I tend to vote Conservative, but I would vote for a more reasonable centre leaning Labour.

Angela Rayner ain't it.

P0ntiacBandit · 25/01/2022 08:36

LOL.

PerseverancePays · 25/01/2022 08:47

Could the force of Mumsnet steer a change in the Labour policy of discrimination against women? All the alternatives to the Tories have this and I have no one left to vote for.

TracyHorrobin · 25/01/2022 08:54

Absolutely not, ever. She has a massive chip on her shoulder and the thought of what she might do if she were PM frightens me.
