I know he'll be replaced by someone equally awful and I know he's not quite gone yet, but I can't remember when I felt uplifted about politics and the ejection of this national embarrassment is warming my cockles. Anyone else feel the same?

Then Cummings and the media would have won, that isn't anything to get excited about.

If you're happy living in a cesspit of corruption that's wonderful for you. Just don't expect everyone else to put up with it.

Change of political culture and transparent government. That's something to get very excited about.

Last night's bottle of work is still unopened Grin

UnconditionalSurrender · 20/01/2022 14:08

Oh, I hope they don't leave. They have provided me with hours of entertainment. Last night's bottle of work is still unopened

This is v v true. They used to be harder to spot. Once they were left with the Boris is a good man doing a hard job in difficult circumstances line it was much easier but v boring. Now they are tying themselves in knots.

Sadly, I find it amusing to point out the sheer stupidity of some of the people who post here.

What about the stupidity of people, tasked to run the country, mixing together drunkenly, contrary to the rules in place at the time, during a pandemic? Particularly after their leader had nearly died of Covid? Leaving aside the "small" matter of imposing rules and not sticking with them, it doesn't exactly speak to competence and intelligence does it?

‘Won’? Won what exactly? This isn’t a game despite the cabinet and their lackey’s (and ex-lackeys) best efforts. They’re playing around with the facts but the facts remain problematic.

This whole circus is incredibly damaging to the running of our country which is exactly why BJ as it’s figurehead needs to step aside and let order recommence. It doesn’t really matter now whether or not there were parties or not, his handling of the situation has been abysmal and his presence is simply toxic and divisive. Hanging on to number 10 now is turning into its own issue. Anyone who had integrity and a real passion to serve their country would see that and leave.

But Boris was really funny at PMQs yesterday when he spoke in Mandarin, what a guy.

Not like Starmer who always looks so glum and eats takeaway pizza. I mean can the man not even afford to have a personal chef?

Especially when they had been reminded of the rules the very afternoon of their party. They are either all very very thick or thought they were above the rules. Whichever it is, they are not fit to run the country. Their defenders in this thread can twist, turn and squirm and call us all stupid as much as they like, the simple facts remain.

I think Tory botting must be quite a profitable line of work.

longwayoff · 20/01/2022 14:34

The BEER jgw1, you forgot to mention The BEER. It's very important, practically treasonous, you know. Stone him.

Interns I reckon. They probably get a MN handle amongst others when they attend their first conference.
SueSaid · 20/01/2022 14:38

'Not like Starmer who always looks so glum and eats takeaway pizza.'

He does doesn't he. His awkward laughing at his own awkward jokes at PMQ never quite convinces does it and yes his partying/eating food at work is very naughty apparently.

I have indeed been trying to forget THE BEER. Did you see the way he was drinking it, straight from the bottle like some European, not from a pint glass with a crown on it.

Oh my siiiiiiiides. Starmer has a party at work and you're lolling about it. We'll I'm sorry but people suffered you know, attended funerals alone and couldn't visit loved ones in care homes and here you are cracking jokes Shock.

Slingingcontest · 20/01/2022 15:21

I suspect that BJ will be secretly delighted if Putin's manoeuvrings coincide with the publication of the Sue Gray report.

TwentyFirstCenturyTricoteuse · 20/01/2022 15:24

Heavyweights like Michael Fabricant and his wig

Well, people have been predicting a dead cat for a couple of days now...

TwentyFirstCenturyTricoteuse · 20/01/2022 15:33

his own awkward jokes at PMQ

Give over. The bring your own boos gag was a proper banger and you know it Grin

longwayoff · 20/01/2022 15:35

Not laughing at Starmer janiiejones (interesting name, assume you're not the infamous jj) but laughing at you and your ever increasing efforts to defend the indefensible. Obviously Bozbots aren't programmed to have a sense of humour but even so. Have one of these since you like them so much Wine it's after lunch, the sun is shining, perfect for working hard.

ClaudineClare · 20/01/2022 15:54

Wonder if Florianus will be back at all to admit that they were wrong about the PM and his responsibility in relation to the Civil Service...

Seems unlikely. Probably gone off shift anyway.

@JaniieJones It is truly shocking isn't it. I was sneering as I wrote that, shaking my head and looking at my watch, to check whether it was time to get back to work on my bottle.
daimbarsatemydogsbone · 20/01/2022 16:13

@JaniieJones

'He’s not gone yet and I’d be happy to give him a push, he’s the most unstatesmanlike PM we have ever had.'

Then Cummings and the media would have won, that isn't anything to get excited about.

We are coming out of the pandemic in a strong position economically yes inflation is up but it is globally, the after effects of covid.

He has got a lot right in the last 2 years, errors have been made but it could've been a million times worse if the opposition were in, we'd never have had Freedom day in July for starters. Starmer predicted a disastrous summer and as always he was wrong.

Didn't anyone think it was funny when Johnson spoke mandarin to Ed Davey Grin.

No, truth and decency would have won. Boris is a cheating liar.
