Sorry that’s in response to them just looking like Nikes!

womaninatightspot · 11/01/2022 13:09

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda

Balenciaga are (in)famous for getting the wealthy and ridiculous to part with their cash. This jacket for is a perfect example…
I had a near identical jacket when I worked for the council who knew the environmental services department were so fashion forward!
BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 11/01/2022 13:09

I think @errnerrcallnernnernnern has missed that the sole isn’t solid and has a big metal moon-boot spring job attached.

ILoveYourLittleHat · 11/01/2022 13:10

Does no-one else really want to try bouncing in them?!
I'd pay 9.75p for a try.

sanityisamyth · 11/01/2022 13:10

I saw a Lego model of the titanic this morning. I'd buy that instead!!

errnerrcallnernnernnern · 11/01/2022 13:11

The point is when you see someone walking in them, they just look like normal trainers with a lot of cushioning, unless you look very closely.

SeeMyLanyardAndWeepBitch · 11/01/2022 13:12

They are the ultimate in ugly fashion victimy 'look at me and see how rich I am' clothing, aren't they?

I'd love to know how many they actually sell.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 11/01/2022 13:12

Exactly @womaninatightspot, £30 from Screwfix or £3k from Balenciaga? Tough one.

thepeopleversuswork · 11/01/2022 13:12

I wouldn't but TBH if you are wealthy enough to be able to consider buying from Balenciaga then by definition that £975 doesn't really matter to you.

GnomeDePlume · 11/01/2022 13:14

BalladOfBarryAndFreda oh my days! A highways hi-vis jacket for a snip under £3k. Ideal for the fashionable man about town who wants to look like he is touting for business for the AA. Worth every penny!

If you go to Toolstation you could get the matching trousers for £12.

HPLikecraft · 11/01/2022 13:14

Not forgetting their £1365 “IKEA” bag!

To think if you had £975 going spare…
MelloYellow · 11/01/2022 13:15

balenciaga make the ugliest trainers, some of them look like Hi Tech ones that you wear to walk to the dog....
I’m convinced it’s a social experiment to show people will wear any ugly crappy item if it shows they have money!

MapleMay11 · 11/01/2022 13:17

I love Balenciaga - not that particular style, but the trainers are very comfortable. I hate most of the trainer brands constantly mentioned on here so I agree, Balenciaga is definitely not aimed at the typical MN user.

PrincessNutella · 11/01/2022 13:17

damn girls i have saved so much cash and i just woke up here in my part of the world. ka-ching! $$$$

Mrsfrumble · 11/01/2022 13:18

If you go to Toolstation you could get the matching trousers for £12.

😂😂😂

I think the trainers might appeal to short men who want to look at bit taller.

bellabasset · 11/01/2022 13:18

You've made me 😃

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 11/01/2022 13:20

Think l preferred the 1950’s version of Balenciaga

The look like the moon shoes you could get as a kid haha

Reminds me of the Vetements DHL T Shirt. www.theguardian.com/fashion/2016/apr/19/dhl-t-shirt-vetements-fashion-paris-catwalk

Though that was a snip at £185.00.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 11/01/2022 13:22

It looks like the shoes belong to a sprinter and the starting block has stayed attached

Bluebluemoon · 11/01/2022 13:23

Ugh, I can just imagine the kind of bloke who'll buy them as well - and the kind of annoying "look at me" springy walk bouncing all over the pavement they'll do when wearing them.

Ditto for women as I'm sure there'll be a women's version too.

Sceptre86 · 11/01/2022 13:24

I wouldn't but a 35 year old mother of 3 probably isn't there target market. My younger brother and sister have balenciaga trainers although not these particular ones. My brothers are neon green and they look great because he can carry them.

viques · 11/01/2022 13:24

On a positive note short people like me would find them useful because I think with practise you could learn to bounce and jump in them to reach up to high shelves. Or you could set up a race track in the garden and do very low hurdling .

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 11/01/2022 13:24

@Mochudubh, crackers!

CloudPop · 11/01/2022 13:24

Woah! This is unbelievable !
