I’m not sure this is right

@SoniaFouler you seem adamant to complain - you agree to T&C's when downloading the app, it's more than likely you agreed to that.

Chalk it up to experience, move on and pay for the full version so no ads - I doubt you would get anything from ofcom.

I also can't seem to find an ad for Amazon where someone's face is being ripped off, curious to see it

SpiderFluff · 27/12/2021 11:25

You might as well complain and then they can tell you if it's real or not. Do it nicely though.

MsAgnesDiPesto · 27/12/2021 11:25

I still think it was an advert for a film or series on Amazon Prime, possibly an Amazon Prime Original, which would need you to go to their website to sign up to watch. The app doesn’t know if you already have Prime.

But you can’t complain to Ofcom that your child saw it if he is below the age for the app and you let him use it unsupervised - that’s all on you, I’m afraid.

whynotwhatknot · 27/12/2021 11:25

Is your child 13 plus

if not its not approriate for them to play it doesnt matter if you think its for kids

SoniaFouler · 27/12/2021 11:26

@DaisyNGO

OP in the advert What was under the skin?
A skeleton - it wasn’t real people it was CGI. I need to try and find it to explain

Hi I think it was an Amazon music advert.

Sorry don’t know how to do clicky links.

ladyvimes · 27/12/2021 11:26

Ha ha obviously I do!

Within your amazon prime app have you set your DN up a child's profile? If playing the game on your profile he will see adverts for adults.

Theremoresefulday · 27/12/2021 11:28

You have to be 13 to play angry birds.

What age is he? And if u13 why was he playing the game?

HunterHearstHelmsley · 27/12/2021 11:29

So an advert for AMAZON MUSIC not AMAZON that you saw YOURSELF

Surely the onus is on you as the parent not to give your young child unsupervised screen time 🤔

That’s about as harmless as they come. You want to complain to ofcom about this? Good luck, not sure they would take you seriously.
phishy · 27/12/2021 11:30

OP, have you ever watched ads for The Amazon website? They’re sickly sweet and schmaltzy, there is no way they would ever put out the ad you describe.

You and your DN have mistaken something for an Amazon ad.

DaisyNGO · 27/12/2021 11:30
@ladyvimes Yes!! That advert!!
Oh I didn't think you meant an animation!
I thought you meant like horror film stuff.

I find the ad quite ugly but that's not grounds for complaint!

Duxiejhrhrvjz · 27/12/2021 11:31

I think this is quite common. A few years ago my kids and my DN used to get an advert for Truth or Dare (the horror movie) all the time! The advert involved her sucking off a banana and choking to death or something so really unsuitable got kids but always came up!

SoniaFouler · 27/12/2021 11:31

Okay I got mixed up with Amazon and Amazon Music but what I was trying to say was it wasn’t for a SHOW on Amazon Prime like people seemed to think I had got mixed up with, it was advertising Amazon itself like I said

I can understand why a child of his age was worried about it! Its a bit creepy/yucky. I think the complaint should probably be directed at the apple store - they have marked a 13+ game for 4+ year olds?

SpiderFluff · 27/12/2021 11:32
@ladyvimes Yes!! That advert!!
No you can't complain about that it's age appropriate for the game.

Theremoresefulday · 27/12/2021 11:32

So what age is your DN?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/12/2021 11:32

My AppStore says this, but I don't know whether that only refers to the game content, not the adverts shown in it.

To put in a complaint about Amazon for this?

That ad is not scary. The unmasking bit is not nearly what you describe. If the ad was too loud, I suggest they turn the volume down.

MyOtherProfile · 27/12/2021 11:32

How old is the child?
