AIBU curmudgeonly husband telling me off

Husband very comfortable with loud music (former DJs) live in detached, no kids, I let air horn off when heavy tune dropped, he turned into dad. It’s Boxing Day, letting my hair down, after me calling him a hypocrite, many sweary words, he flounced off to bedroom. AIBU to continue with very loud DnB & Jungle along with drinks & dancing around the living room like a maniac, while he sulks?

All I can say is that I'm glad that I don't live next door to the pair of you!

rainbowlou · 27/12/2021 01:05

Yes I’m very happy I don’t live next door to you as well, my next door neighbour is lovely with their shitting/pissing cat all over our garden & having to remove dead birds but we don’t mind it’s just part of life isn’t it? You’re all so perfectly behaved here on mumsnet, so righteous, bless you.

The correct response to an unexpected air horn at this time of night is to get up and dance.

Takemine · 27/12/2021 01:22

This is what no kids look like

I suspect your DH is wondering if that's panning out as intended.

This is indeed similar to what having kids looks like.

Except you can take away a kid's air horn...

Ticksallboxes · 27/12/2021 01:22

I love the song you posted that started all this!! What a hilarious thread!

Merry Christmas OP and enjoy!!

I’m with you, OP. The Jungle Clean-Up Mix of the Shake ‘n’ Vac song is one of the musical triumphs of our times. Frankly your husband should thank himself lucky that he’s getting the horn at Christmas.

Of course he is, I am childlike so is he, we know this but thanks for your take on things, greatly appreciated Smile although I know for a fact that husband loves the lie ins & just generally dossing about in the big soft comfy bed on days off, so me letting off an air horn once a year is preferable to the alternative etc, he never wanted kids, I have my reasons why I haven’t any which are personal to me.

You lost me at “fooked”, the most annoying semi-swear. Would rather the air horn went off.
