AIBU curmudgeonly husband telling me off

Husband very comfortable with loud music (former DJs) live in detached, no kids, I let air horn off when heavy tune dropped, he turned into dad. It’s Boxing Day, letting my hair down, after me calling him a hypocrite, many sweary words, he flounced off to bedroom. AIBU to continue with very loud DnB & Jungle along with drinks & dancing around the living room like a maniac, while he sulks?

@GinIronic

Full marks for using "curmudgeonly".
Along with ‘flounced’ and ‘air horn’ in the same post.

All round excellent. I hope you are still 👏dancing manically and DH has got over his sulk and joined you.

An air horn WTF,the mind is truly boggled.🥳

Theremoresefulday · 26/12/2021 23:30

Detached with neighbours within half a mile?

I’d be most displeased if you were setting off air horn and loud music near me at this time of night.

@MsTSwift

What's an air horn?

You do sound awfully irritating.

crispsarny · 26/12/2021 23:33

@RedwineforSantaplease

Did you just have the air horn down the side of the sofa or do you have a stash of them in the sideboard? You know, just in case of a tune emergency.
hahahaha was for euros but unfortunately I like to let them off when a good tune drops!

🤣 This is absolutely brilliant. Let me no when the neighbours knock the door. I would have a heart attack if a air horn went off whilst I was watching Eastenders

Longdistance · 26/12/2021 23:36

I’ve got to know what tunes.

Keeva2017 · 26/12/2021 23:37

I want an air horn within reach for such occasions!!! Crack on op.

Graffittiunderpass · 26/12/2021 23:37

Nothing to add, I just want to be part of this ✌️✌️

RichardMarxisinnocent · 26/12/2021 23:38

I must be old before my time, I'm a similar age to the OP but I don't know what an air horn is, and I don't know what "when heavy tune dropped" means, nor why this would be cause for setting off an air horn.

Oh give over we get massive fireworks here every day, all hours, quad bikes going around & all sorts, neighbours cats shitting & pissingnover our gardens & cars, kids climbing over our fences, dogs trying to eat us, fence paint on our car etc, etc. I let the air horn off for a second, having fun, living our life, alongside others, live & let live, not hurting anyone ffs. We all need to learn to just rub alongside each other in this fooked up world.

But...hate air horns, sorry.

Lindy2 · 26/12/2021 23:40

Do you just happen to keep an air horn tucked away somewhere at home just incase you have a sudden need for one?

If you're in a detached house that is truly and properly detached as in your nearest neighbours can't hear any impromptu air horning or the music. If you're in a new build type detached with about a 20cm gap between yours and the next "detached" house then they'll probably be a separate post made about you by your neighbours.

Was your DH perhaps jealous that you got to the family air horn before him?
