AIBU curmudgeonly husband telling me off

Husband very comfortable with loud music (former DJs) live in detached, no kids, I let air horn off when heavy tune dropped, he turned into dad. It’s Boxing Day, letting my hair down, after me calling him a hypocrite, many sweary words, he flounced off to bedroom. AIBU to continue with very loud DnB & Jungle along with drinks & dancing around the living room like a maniac, while he sulks?

I wondered what jungle music was. That kind of music sends me into a rage. There’s probably a psychological explanation 🤔

SimpsonsXmasBoogie · 26/12/2021 23:56

Do you have a gong?

WineIsMyMainVice · 26/12/2021 23:57

@falalalalalalalallama

But more importantly, what was the tune? (Love a bit of jungle Grin).
Right there with ya sister!!! OP - you go for it girl! Let him have his man sulk and don’t let it spoil your fun!!!!
crispsarny · 26/12/2021 23:58

@Livpool

All fine apart from the air horn. But then if you have one I suppose you are going to use it
Exactly, he wanted the bloody air horn, it’s standard issue for an old skool DJ, even got back up canisters which he brags about hahaha

I love the ‘see all OP posts’ function.

Are you 46 or 42?

Or just so into it you’ve forgotten?

I’m ‘lof a generation and I’d be in there with the tunes but the air horn maybe not so much.

Enjoy!

You're listening to Jungle and D&B cranked to 11 while posting on Mumsnet? I feel like there's some rich people somewhere that would pay to see this as performance art Confused

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 27/12/2021 00:00

Oh give over we get massive fireworks here every day, all hours, quad bikes going around & all sorts, neighbours cats shitting & pissingnover our gardens & cars, kids climbing over our fences, dogs trying to eat us, fence paint on our car etc, etc. I let the air horn off for a second, having fun, living our life, alongside others, live & let live, not hurting anyone ffs. We all need to learn to just rub alongside each other in this fooked up world.

Can't think why this sounds like a certain level of hell in which to exist.

"neighbours cats shitting & pissingnover our gardens & cars"

How do they do it on the cars? Do they have pogo sticks?

Yellowshirt · 27/12/2021 00:00

That music is awful by the way! I'm 40. But they didn't play that in my clubbing days in Lincoln!

crispsarny · 27/12/2021 00:01

Yes yes, nuff love, you might like this @WineIsMyMainVice

I’m agoraphobic & very anxious

Anxious people & air horn are not usual bed fellows.

Presume the agoraphobia is recent-ish ?

It’s not too bad tbh, outside of this it’s very peaceful, birds tweeting, I’ve lived in worse conditions

I've had to turn the music off. I feel old now at 40. Can't you dance to the top 40??

No long time thing on/off, obviously pandemic made it worse, air horn is long standing thing with music I love, is always in a DJ’s box (some)

If you’d have said a Vuvuzela I’d have said YANBU. Simply because I like the word.

Anyway, sounds to me like you are living your best life OP. You keep living it.
