NotTheGrinchAgain · 26/12/2021 19:00

We decided not to buy presents for each other, we have plenty of stuff and don't need more. I'm just happy we could spend a happy Christmas together as a family and watch the kids having lots of fun.

What’s the point in buying each other stuff if you can’t even be arsed to open it? Better to just not bother, surely?
KarmaStar · 26/12/2021 19:04

I wonder if op is genuine?😀

LizzoBorden · 26/12/2021 19:05

Some really REALLY gorgeous jewellery, a Diptyque candle, some books and a sweater, plus lots of lovely thoughtful little things. Feel very spoiled!

vixeyann · 26/12/2021 19:06

A Cricut Joy for my crafting, new grips and seat post for my mountain bike, some craft pens and a kettle bell. He buys good presents because he listens and I appreciate them a lot as I don't buy things like that myself as I feel guilty for not putting it towards the house or things for my son.

Quornflakegirl · 26/12/2021 19:07

We don’t usually buy for each other but this year he got me a Diptyque candle, a pair of earrings from Tiffany’s and a box of chocolates.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 26/12/2021 19:10

We don’t buy proper presents for each other , stopped years ago . Just a token gift. I got a football mug and calendar celebrating my beloved teams 150th birthday. Perfect . Just wish they had a candle in the range.

LadyPerseverance · 26/12/2021 19:11

Thomas Sabo earrings
Jumper
Collection of Jane Austen Books
Pyjamas & Slippers

And then some chocolates and smellies as stocking fillers

wineandchocolateforthewin · 26/12/2021 19:11

Nothing yet but will be getting loreal steam pod hair straighteners

zen1 · 26/12/2021 19:12

A book, some historic photos I wanted from eBay, a jumper, a couple of necklaces.

lynntheyresexswappers · 26/12/2021 19:13

A Thomas sabo bracelet, night shirt, mug, modern family pop vinyl, gin set and a bee book - very happy! ❤️

XiCi · 26/12/2021 19:16

I got perfume, Charlotte Tilbury make up set, my fave Molton brown shower gel, a necklace I've wanted for a while, a couple of books, my favourite chocolates, a photography sphere lens and some crypto currency.

Lmao at those being stocking fillers 😂

Well we're adults so it's hardly like they'd be filled with my little pony blind bags and chupa chups Grin. A stocking doesn't have to be full of tat. We thought it would be a nice idea to do this instead of the usual one big present

How very restrained. Just the little extras that make things sparkle, eh?
What a nasty response. I hope pissing on other people's chips has made you feel better. Merry Christmas

SilverGlassHare · 26/12/2021 19:18

Diamond bubble ring (Boodles raindance dupe!).

Goatinthegarden · 26/12/2021 19:18

We bought each other nothing, but it really isn’t depressing. Not everyone likes getting gifts and it’s not how we show one another that we care. We don’t enjoy the stress of trying to choose something ‘perfect’. We both have really specific taste and don’t like being surprised. Seems a bit silly to ask one another for things, wrap them up and then exchange them. I totally understand why most people prefer to get a gift though.

We had a lovely day, drove three hours to visit his family, gave gifts to his little nieces and then played with them, then ate a meal together. After all of that, we snuck off and checked into a fancy hotel and had cocktails by ourselves in the bar before bed.

PenguinLove1 · 26/12/2021 19:20

A Designer bag that I never thought he would buy Bag, Fancy skincare, Molton Brown bath set, scarf, fluffy socks

I was surprised and delighted!

Beachgirl33 · 26/12/2021 19:20

My DH got me great presents. I love everything Smile

Diamond necklace
Silk scarf
Favourite perfume
Chocs
Books
Nail polishes
Notepad
Slippers
Socks
And a candle.

I appreciate this is quite extravagant but he said he wanted to spoil me as I’d had a shit year - family bereavement, health issues etc.

vixeyann · 26/12/2021 19:22

@WarmSeaSwimmer

New Le Chameau walking boots and Finisterre waterproof jacket, warm bobble hat and cashmere gloves. Then it all became apparent why when he made an announcement that he's reserved a puppy for us from his sister's litter. I and the kids had been pleading for one of the puppies and he hadn't agreed, so I was very surprised and happy.
That's so lovely @WarmSeaSwimmer !
CoolNoMore · 26/12/2021 19:22

A 3ft cactus. Best present ever.

DollyGirl18 · 26/12/2021 19:26

Aftershokz open com headphones - I work from home, he knows I've struggled with over the head headphones and ear buds so they're a game changer for me

Magissa · 26/12/2021 19:26

Diptyque candle
Lego bunch of flowers
A waterpik flosser
A new stainless steel water bottle

EmmaWoodhousestreehouse · 26/12/2021 19:30

A new iphone, gold earrings, choc, a clarins gift set, a coat, jeans.

TheCatShatInTheHat · 26/12/2021 19:30

1/2 of a 3 day mini break - we wouldn't normally go away at this time of the year. Neither of us need or want anything so we decided go go away instead. We go in a couple of days (Covid restrictions allowing).

Jurassiclover · 26/12/2021 19:31

Lots of clothes (I'd sent him links to stuff during asos sale and gave plenty of options which he bought most of... was only expecting 1 or 2 pieces. Very happy with my new wardrobe haha!)
Dressing gown as I've had my current one for years
New makeup brushes
Timberland boots (always wanted a pair and could never bring myself to spend that much on myself)
Some plain black trainers as I complained I only had white ones
Chocolates
Fluffy socks
A clay hand/footprint set so I can get DS's footprints etc to put up in his nursery
Papier wellness journal

I was well and truly spoiled rotten this year, very very happy
