in not paying for my bottle of apple juice in tesco this morning

i was running late this morning and could not find ds's juice bottle for lunch, i made a mad dash to tesco (parked in disabled space and left both ds's in car while i ran in ) picked up a bottle of apple juice 49p and went to the self serve till.

when i ran the bottle through i realised i only had 20p in my purse so i went to use my swich card which it would no accept??

i had a quick look around, no one was looking so i picked up the bottle and ran out to the car, the self serve till was showing some "alternative payment" message.

i spend £££ in this tesco, but what i did was still stealing i suppose. had i not taken the bottle though ds would of had no juice in his lunch, we arrived 5 mins late to school as it was without having to run home for another 29p to pay for juice.

should i go back and pay now or try and be more organised in future???

OMMMMMMMM, Im telling!!!
You're braver than me, not sure what Id have done. I wouldnt worry about it, nobody got hurt. However I would nip back in and pay, make sure its a manager, the if anybody did see you STEAL then they'll know you came back. That would be the honest thing to do.

hercules1 · 20/12/2007 16:16

Sorry but how is this brave?

hedgemag · 20/12/2007 16:16

I take my DISABLED friend around in his car, he has a disabled ticket. The number of times I have driven around a supermarket carpark trying to find a space in a disabled parking bay. What do I find 1) People sitting in their car whilst the other is shopping.
2) People like you who are not disabled taking spaces that the needy should be using.

My friend can bearly walk unaided and the times I have had to park a long way away is too many to count.

DO NOT PARK IN THE DISABLED PARKING BAYS PLEASE.

Merry christmas, Santa only visits good girlsQ

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 20/12/2007 16:18

Yawn

At least an original wind up would of caused uproar.

This is one is pants

mumzyof2 · 20/12/2007 16:18

hercules1, I just meant that I wouldnt have dared do it, not brave in the sense as... well...hercules

electra · 20/12/2007 16:22

OMG - this is going to kick off! Surely a wind up??

VictorianSqualor · 20/12/2007 16:24

Should have just gone to another till obviously. Just because it was kids juice, fruit juice at that doesn't make it right. Prepare yourself properly in future. My dd forgets her drinks bottle all the time, her own fault, she goes to school, leaves bottle ont he side, she is given a cup at school and drinks water from that.

applejuice · 20/12/2007 17:07

its not a wind up at all, why would it be????

the disabled spaces were all empty (all 20 odd of them) i dont think they would all have filled up in the 30 secs i was in the shop.

i am not worried about being caught, even if they did have cctv it would be so easy for me to say that i used my card and thought it had gone through, i am in the shop all the time so a lot of the staff know who i am.

what i was asking really is do i forget about it or go back and say that the 49p did not come of my account and i can i pay again (or something like that)

and i started to give ds packed lunches because i was fed up of him coming home thirsty after not being given water at lunch time so i would not of trusted school to give it to him today, the fruit juice is all kept in the fridge at the shop door thats why i picked up apple juice and not some other kind of juice.

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 20/12/2007 17:11

who gives a feck if the spaces were empty

you don't have any right to park there

if 29 other ignorant fuckwits had decided to park there as well as you the spaces would all have been full

as it was only 1 ignorant fuckwit had parked there

edam · 20/12/2007 17:15

YOu do realise the supermarket CCTV may have picked up on you taking up a disabled space without a blue badge? Watch the post for tickets. ANd never, ever do it again. It's really below the belt.

LowFat · 20/12/2007 17:16

Buy a nice big bottle of a fruit squash which meets you dietary and flavour requirements, put a little drinks container as an extra on Santa's list for your DS and while out buying these pay for your apple juice.

New years resolution:

'I must be more organised'

applejuice · 20/12/2007 17:16

"if 29 other ignorant fuckwits had decided to park there as well as you the spaces would all have been full"

in which case i would of parked in a normal space, btw even over a computer using language like just shows how common you are.

and before i get a load of posts pointing out how terrible my grammer/spelling is you dont have to bother i have heard it all before.

idlingabout · 20/12/2007 17:17

If this is not a wind up (still not sure)then as already pointed out,the able-bodied SHOULD NEVER USE A DISABLED PARKING SPACE.
As for your theft it IS THEFT. No excuse. If everyone behaved like you the shops' shrinkage would increase dramatically and guess what? They put prices up and we all pay ie honest people pay for your theft.

applejuice · 20/12/2007 17:17

lowfat i really need to get some spare bottles in, i am fed up hunting for the one all the time.

OP posts:
NAB3hundredbaubles · 20/12/2007 17:20

I would go back and pay but I wouldn't have taken it in the first place.

I was in Tesco a week or so ago and bought 2 wire cooling racks. The assistant only put 1 through so I told him there was two. Considering I spent almost £80 it made no difference but I feel much better for paying for what I was buying rather than knowingly stealing.

edam · 20/12/2007 17:22

appleuice, I really don't think you are in any position to start lecturing other posters. Parking in a disabled space is really, really pathetic. If you want to start talking about what's 'common' ....

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 20/12/2007 17:26

49p ffs, haven't you lot got anything more worthy to bray about?

Sounds like a shit morning. Not your finest hour...but your biggest mistake was in posting it on here!

Not having your childs drink sorted, stealing from tesco and not having enough money on your switch card to pay for a 49p bottle of juice shows how common you are, IMO.

southeastastra · 20/12/2007 17:29

they took away our self service tills in tesco

Cappuccino's language not 'common' at all. What is 'common' is the the type of behaviour demonstrated by the op. But then I was always told it was 'common' to talk about things being 'common' iyswim. !

SantaGotStuckUpTheGreensleeve · 20/12/2007 17:32

Wow, I reckon some of you would have presented the Holy Family with a bill for having the stable cleaned
