The sooner we all admit this, the better. You're just lying to yourselves if you say otherwise.

The worst are the people who say "oh but if you fry them with bacon and crack cocaine they taste great." No. That is the bacon and drugs being worsened by this green hell.

Let's admit this once and for all.

I like them well enough with a roast dinner or cottage pie or similar. Webdo a sprout challenge at mealtime and someone shouts “spike up you sprouts” and then it’s a race to chomp one down fastest.

My Dad on the other hand is an absolute wrong’un and purposely cooks extra sprouts so that he can eat the leftovers cold 🤢

Can't stand them boiled. Had them raw, finely chopped in coleslaw in a gusto box and they tasted lovely!

Me. They are my absolute favourite vegetable. Honestly. Line up every vegetable type in the world and I would pick slightly overcooked sprouts every time.

Love them but they have to be cooked properly and enough of the outer leaves taken off.

I thought whether you like sprouts or not depends on your individual taste receptors (which I think depend on genetics?). Not sure but I think some people taste them as bitter for that reason? Hopefully someone with more knowledge will post as to whether this is correct or not. I think there is a similar issue with whether you find coriander to be soapy or not?

Personally I love them prepared any way as long as they are not over cooked. Nigella's recipe with smoked bacon lardons and chestnuts is really good.

One of my favourite veg! So excited when they appear in the shops - love them planned boiled, steamed, pan fried or done with lots of delicious gubbins, but roasted is best like broccoli! Eat sprouts non stop through December and Jan! Delicious
