I hate tattoos on partners

I was intimate with a partner this weekend and he has arm and back tattoos…. Tribal type. I’m really turned of him….

Most men I find don’t have them.

I like tattoos if they are done by artists.

YANBU. Having preferences about things like tattoos is morally neutral. You’re never unreasonable for finding something a turn off.

You like what you like. I don’t think it’s that big a deal. You most likely have features/traits others find unattractive too, just like all of us.

I don't think the OP is necessarily wrong to have assumed he wasn't inked if there was nothing visible!

OP, I don't like tattoos either, but I have a massive crush on someone who has one. I think everyone has their preferences, but for the right person, you adjust those preferences. It doesn't really sound like you're feeling it though? Which is fine.

You hate tattoos. Were turned off him. But still had sex with him? So you noticed only mid act?! Did you have your eyes closed tightly the entire time and only noticed half an hour in? Surely there was a moment in which you noticed before sex? Or were you in the darkest room ever and only turned on the lights after? Was he covered in Vinchy makeup and sweat washed off the cover and revealed the hideousness mid session? Did he gaslight you by saying 'no, no these aren't tattoos you're hallucinating'? Was he tattooed immediately after sex by an artist waiting in the next room?

Come on. If it's so bad and you're turned off then don't have sex?! It's so bizarre to complain after sex that you found him unattractive. Just stop having sex next time. You don't have to sleep with someone ever. If you don't like what is revealed then stop the act. Don't go through with it and then come on here moaning that you had sex with someone with tattoos.

YABU for being a total spanner over this.

I've just realised I've never had sex with anyone with a tattoo! And I've had sex with lots of people. I must subconsciously not like them!

Tattoos were for special groups of people who largely operated outside of normal society eg - military, bikers, prisoners. - Theydenoted belonging to that group. When ''celebrities'' like Beckham and Cheryl Cole got them, the public just copied. For me, you shouldn't have tattoos unless you are dangerous, or you look like a total dick
No one owns tattoos. Stupid comment.

My partner has three dreadful tattoos - think star sign, name and football club!he's 56 and they were done when he was 16/17. I Just laugh about them and thankfully he's planning to get them removed. Doesn't make me less attracted to him though. They're just part of his past.

YANBU at all because you can be turned off someone for any reason you like.

And I don’t think it’s bizarre to find you’re turned off someone after having sex with them either! Sexual attraction isn’t black and white.

Personally I’ve seen tattoos that have repulsed me and tattoos that I’ve found really sexy.
