Ok, first of all I want to acknowledge that this is a lighthearted thread. I know there are much bigger issues to worry about at the moment but I’m feeling like the little things might just push me over the edge and I thought some of you might be feeling the same.

So, go ahead and vent here, this is a safe space to share your most first world problems, they can be as shallow and as inconsequential as you like- no judgement!

I’ll kick off with….

I just bought a new mascara and it’s got a sodding stickle brick for a wand- apparently that’s a thing and people actually find it effective- well I hate it and I haven’t got time to buy another one.

I’ve just found out that people actually have spread sheets to log their present buying- I think that would have been really useful as I can’t work out if my kids have got even/equivalent presents and it’s doing my head in. Too late now though. Would have been useful in November!

I’m sick of seeing super fit, smiley people sprinting around all bouncy, out running. I’ve had a cold for 3 weeks (deffo not covid) and I can’t find time to go for a run, plus I’m too ill. And, if I did, the cold air makes me cough and splutter and these people just make me feel inadequate.

I had three drinks at a Christmas market yesterday and have spent all day in the grip of a hangover that feels like I'd been on an all night bender. I'll be in bed by 8pm I reckon.

The skin around my nose is playing up due to heating being on/ blowing my nose to much/ general bad skin. I've tried everything and it still looks red and blotchy.

The dress I'll be wearing to my work Christmas do tonight is too tight. Also have no suitable coat too wear. Don't want to go really, want to stay in the warm and watch Gogglebox.

A bit of my shellac has just peeled off my finger and my next appointment isn't until next Friday

I was going to caveat this by saying no judgement unless your issue is Veletiser related, you can work through that on your own time, I’m fed up of hearing about bloody velvetisers! But, I’m genuinely with you on this one. Why do things never look the same irl?

I literally look 6 months pregnant in this bloody dress. I haven't been pregnant since 2014.

Just wanted to update you all on the cracker situation, I know a lot of you won’t sleep unless you get an update. I settled on some tasteful M&S fill your own ones that are fabric and therefore more environmentally friendly but now I’m probably going to need to remortgage and I can’t for the life of me think what to put in the bastard things.

I went far out of my comfort zone and organised the class collection and gift buying for the teacher and two TAs. Now I have their gifts in my house but the teacher and TAs are off with Covid. What am I supposed to do with them if the staff aren't back before the end of term?!

Not wanting to be funny but people in poor countries are also bothered by minor shit too. It's not just the first world! Most of us find these minor irritations in our daily lives super annoying whether first, second or third world!

Yeah, I hear you. As far as I know, it’s just an expression albeit a not particularly woke one.

I've ran out of oat milk. Had to put semi-skimmed in my coffee. Semi-skimmed

Sick of instant coffee but cant found ground decaff for the cafetiere.

Cant get workmen to call me back to do the work on my house I want to do.

Several of my necklaces got tangled in the drawer and I cant find the toothpicks to sort them out.

Had a smart meter fitted today, and now the gas is not working. The temperature is dropping rapidly, and we are waiting for a call back about getting an emergency call out.

Met a dear friend for lunch in my own house, due to lack of energy / stamina after Nasty Medical Stuff in August and September. I slept for an hour after she left and am now in bed before 5pm on a Friday because I'm too tired to do anything else. I was meant to do so work and write some Christmas cards, but I can't guarantee I'll spell my own name right at the moment. I don't have enough Spoons.

I double booked tomorrow big style bought tickets for the lion the witch and the Wardrobe tomorrow 2pm but forgot about them and have now arranged a big double bday day/night out at the same time, my husband has made other arrangements, it is too late notice for anyone it seems - £150 of tickets down the drain for amazing show that I would love to see 🙄😬

Were they the Tesco ones? We were slightly let down by those..

I walked from home to the opposite end of town to buy a particular locally made caramel sauce that my parents love to put in a hamper for them. Got to the specialist shop and they don't sell it any more but apparently a cafe two roads from my house that I'd walked past 20 minutes earlier does have it.

It's raining all the time recently which makes it really hard to enjoy my rooftop garden

I haven’t had post in about 10 days. I couldn’t really put my finger on why i wasn’t receiving parcels from royal mail or letters. But assumed they had a back log so left it at that. The postie showed up today with 3 letters and a parcel and apologised as he had been unwell and they lack cover for my area. One of the letters was my second vaccine invitation, except the appointment was on Wednesday just passed. Im not sure if they are doing walk-in’s anymore and i really wanted my second vaccine before Christmas. Not for any particular reason I mean it can be done in January. But it still made me sad non the less 😂 first world problems!

The festive garlands I bought for my windows are too festive and I'll have to tone them down by airbrushing them lightly with a dusting of farrow and ball....
