Ok, first of all I want to acknowledge that this is a lighthearted thread. I know there are much bigger issues to worry about at the moment but I’m feeling like the little things might just push me over the edge and I thought some of you might be feeling the same.

So, go ahead and vent here, this is a safe space to share your most first world problems, they can be as shallow and as inconsequential as you like- no judgement!

I’ll kick off with….

I just bought a new mascara and it’s got a sodding stickle brick for a wand- apparently that’s a thing and people actually find it effective- well I hate it and I haven’t got time to buy another one.

I’ve just found out that people actually have spread sheets to log their present buying- I think that would have been really useful as I can’t work out if my kids have got even/equivalent presents and it’s doing my head in. Too late now though. Would have been useful in November!

I’m sick of seeing super fit, smiley people sprinting around all bouncy, out running. I’ve had a cold for 3 weeks (deffo not covid) and I can’t find time to go for a run, plus I’m too ill. And, if I did, the cold air makes me cough and splutter and these people just make me feel inadequate.

Sodding screw on my oven door catch fell out and got lost in July; I am STILL trying to track down a replacement and keep being passed between the manufacturer and Very, as well as getting no response from any of the other online Swan spare parts sites.

I really don't want to have to buy a whole new oven for the sake of a screw

In November, I ordered Christmas Pyjamas from Studio with my niece and nephews names on. They still haven't arrived. I had an e-mail saying they would be with me by the 9th. Then another email saying it will now be the 12th. I just don't think they're going to materialise. But because I trusted them, it's now too late to order from anyone else.

My Christmas tree is supposed to be delivered today but hasn’t yet arrived 🙄

The sleeves keep riding up under my cardi and annoying me

Oh gosh, I HATE this. It's right up there with tights that are too short, so when you're walking the gusset ends up half way down your legs. That pulls the waist part down, until the inevitable slow roll over your belly. Gives me the RAGE

A personalised Bing pencil case for my niece hasn't arrived yet, even though it should have been here for the 6th and the company hasn't responded to my email chasing them up. I paid £15 for it so don't really want to go out and buy something else and then have it turn up just after we give the christmas presents out.

And her birthday is in September, so it would be a long time to hold onto it for that instead. Gah

I don't fancy going to the work Xmas party this evening, but can't think of a good enough excuse (except for being too fat to fit in my party clothes)

YABU to use the term first world…! Totally patronising and wrong to use

My Tesco shop just arrived, normal mince pies got subbed. Too appalled to try them (until at least mid afternoon when I need a sugar rush)

I’m on day 9 of this sodding cold/virus and just want to be well. All my Christmas fun things were last week and I was too ill to go 😩

My chipotle sweetcorn muffins don’t taste of chipotle.

I wrapped all of my presents without tags and put them under the tree convinced that my personalised gift bags would arrive the next day and I would remember which present was which.
Obviously two weeks later the gift bags have still not arrived and now I cannot for the life of me remember whose presents are whose. I’m going to have to unwrap them or risk the situation I had 2 years ago where my dad and DP somehow managed to end up with each other’s presents.

Just finished binge watching 13 series of Real Housewives of New York. Feel bereft without my new BFF 's Ramona, Sonja and Luann

My favourite brand of lippy has been discontinued and I’m hunting for a replacement but Bcos of newborn dd cba to go out shopping and keep ordering random ones in the hope it’s the same. Third one arrived today. It is not the same.

Effing doctors/pharmacy hardly open so when I do venture out to collect my prescription i come back empty handed. Car seats are ANNOYING and I have to drag baby out with me

Ordered autistic ds a new school bag from
EBay. He picked one he liked. They sent wrong one. Ds upset. It’s been over a week. They finally gave a return address. Which isn’t coming up on couriers website so yet again I can’t return it. He’s been using a swim bag and all his things/work/pictures getting crushed.

Sitting in my pjs gathering the will to actually get up and ready to try doctors AGAIN. Can’t face the post office for returning parcel. Standing in the queue (outside) and then they’ll tut and say “this address doesn’t come up on the bastard system”

I’m looking particularly pale and tired at the moment. I thought buying a highlighter might brighter my face and make me look less ill. It arrived this morning and I now have a shiny and glittery, tired face

My cleaner is on maternity leave and trying to find a reliable, efficient and reasonably priced alternative is stressing me out (as we used to say in the 90s)

@Sunsetsupernova glad you like the look of them. My head just says they are all kinds of wrong. Maybe I’ll think of them as Christmas tarts instead of mince pies and that’ll seem fine.

I can't be bothered to get another pillow, which is right next to me,, so I will remain uncomfortable and get angry.

I can’t get Kahlua anymore due to production issues associated with COVID.

I’ve discovered a delicious fruity cocktail recipe which I’ll have instead. Except I have to drink it out of a boring glass because the hurricane cocktail glasses I’ve ordered haven’t arrived yet!

I don’t know if I’ll be in Florida for Christmas or not. All depends on 9 people having clear pre flight tests and 4 of those are either children or teachers with one being a known contact because another parent sent their positive child to school
Packing a suitcase while thinking it might not happen makes me sad but also I sound like a knob complaining.

I have some of those annoying thick hairs that sprout on the neck and chin, and they're at that in-between stage where they're long enough for me to notice they're there ( I can feel them) but not yet long enough to grip with tweezers and pluck.

I love cranberry and orange loaves from a certain supermarket. This year they’ve added raisins which I hate. Thank you for the safe space to vent this injustice.
