To be pissed off my husband lost his wedding jacket?

He went on his Christmas do and not only did he decide it was on to walk home 2 miles in not the best weather (I still can't believe his friends would let him do that) but he lost our wedding jacket, that does make very, very pissed off/sad.

OP posts:

@1forAll74

Perhaps your Husband is not as bothered as you,about the lost posh jacket, unless he had a wallet or something in it.
Maybe read the thread.

The jacket had the car keys in it and the husband's cash Christmas bonus.

Also if you read the thread you will see that it has all been found safe and sound.

butterpuffed · 04/12/2021 14:03

I don't know if this is all true , even if it's not it's been very entertaining Grin

NameChange776543 · 04/12/2021 14:03

There’s no excuse for DUI and if he’s driven again I’d leave him

TeaAndThenMoreTea · 04/12/2021 14:05

@Terribleluck

No, he actually got a driving ban due to DUI.
And he would have had another one if the police had breathalysed him this morning after driving 5 hours after being steaming. Surely being the control freak loving and caring wife you are then you would have made sure that he didn't drive until this afternoon to be sure that he wasn't going to risk his license for a second time (or will we find out later that it's a frequent event)
girlmom21 · 04/12/2021 14:07

If he was drunk enough to leave his jacket, car keys and bonus in a pub he was definitely not fit to drive back to/from the pub 6 hours later.

I can't believe you went out at 3am to prevent him having to walk whole two miles. I actually laughed out loud at that!

@Slothkin

I am very tired and dealing with a fair bit of physical pain so if someone could reassure me this thread has genuinely moved on to arguments about keeping fruitcake, the coastline of Essex and WWII flying jackets that would be great.
Yep. It has. It's the most bizarre thread ever 😂
Singinghollybob · 04/12/2021 14:13

@satci the OP has already explained what a wedding jacket is

Evilcountspatula · 04/12/2021 14:49

I’m amazed that you went out at 3am for a 4 mile round trip and were back and posting on mumsnet by 3.09.

MrsLarry · 04/12/2021 14:57

@certainshepherdpups

None of this story makes sense. In one post you say it’s the first time he’s gone out since losing his license. But in another post he lost his license years ago. Confused Hmm
Maybe he's not been allowed out since 😂
Heepers · 04/12/2021 15:19

What is a wedding jacket?

percythewitch · 04/12/2021 15:39

@Heepers

What is a wedding jacket?
What do you think it might possibly be? It's a specially trained squirrel that lifts phones from handbags in pubs.

if you could be arsed to read the thread it has been answered many time over

"I know someone who picked their car up at 3pm after a night out , he got breathalysed and banned."

Me too Shock

I'm sure he wasn't ready to come home at precisely 3am. She's allowed to round up from 2:52 (also not necessarily the actual time) if it's easier
WomanStanleyWoman · 04/12/2021 15:53

I do wish people would read at least the OP’s post, if not the whole thread. So many people asking questions that have already been answered.

‘Why was he driving if he’s lost his licence?’ - answered.

‘Who was looking after the children when you went out at 3am?’ - answered.

‘Why couldn’t your 16 year-old have babysat?’ - answered.

That’s before we even get to the people saying the jacket might still turn up - several hours after the OP said it already had.

I get why people are dubious about aspects of this thread, but questioning things that have already been explained is just ignorant.

WomanStanleyWoman · 04/12/2021 15:55

They'll still be mouldy

She’s not planning to eat them.

What about questioning that the OP is American but lives in the U.K. but wants to know what it's like to be interviewed by Americans, has secured a job earning £100k but has only worked from home before, owns several properties and 3 family businesses but cannot afford a laptop and Christmas is cancelled if her husband's £300 bonus is lost?

Can we question those things?

WomanStanleyWoman · 04/12/2021 16:45

I don’t know anything about the OP’s other threads. I can only go on what she has said in this one. The whole thing may indeed be fiction (true of any MN thread), but trying to suggest the OP is trolling by asking who’s looking after the children when she’s already answered that doesn’t make sense.

That's your takeaway??
Slothkin · 04/12/2021 18:52

@MrsLarry thank you, I once went extremely funny due to a meds change insomnia episode and my ‘conversations’ from that day were interesting reading.

WomanStanleyWoman · 05/12/2021 00:23

That's your takeaway??

What else did you think should be my ‘takeaway’?

As @clymene said....these are 'plotholes' if you don't want your posting history questioned, then it's very easy to nc

OP has a history rich in artistic licence, loopholes, BS and melodrama. Pinch of salt required.

Waspsarearseholes · 05/12/2021 11:29

It isn't called DUI in the UK.
Mummyoflittledragon · 05/12/2021 11:36

@Terribleluck

I actually still keep a box of chocolates he gave me when we first started dating (and a bag of wotsits...) I'm a sentimental hoarder.
Omg. I’m a bit of a sentimental hoarder but that’s ridiculous. These things are of zero value!
VexedofVirginiaWater · 05/12/2021 11:56

I don't think I could hoard chocolates - maybe the box, but the chocolates would all be gone PDQ.
