Do you remember Heather Mills?

I have been watching the Beatles documentary and got to thinking about her.

She was in the papers constantly in the 2000s, I remember her being painted as an absolute con artist witch. I googled a few articles about her from the time of the divorce. They are brutal in the misogynistic tone, she’s labelled as a slag, a goer, ex prostitute, you name it.

I don’t think papers write about women in such hash terms anymore. Maybe she was a bit of a twat, whoever married Saint Paul would have suffered at that time I think.

I suppose by AIBU is are the press less misogynistic.

I didn't 'instruct' you @EYProvider, and in any case you chose not to. This thread has been very strange in a lot of ways TBF, and no I don't work for Mumsnet, do you? Confused

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 12:06

No, I don’t, but I’ve noticed you don’t say much except to try and put other people off commenting. Why?

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2021 12:07

What I have noticed is that the OP only posted once, and didn't return...

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 12:09

And what do you mean, ‘strange’? If you don’t work for Mumsnet, what business is it of yours who says what? Why comment at all if you find it strange?

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 12:12

Well, I don’t know why the OP didn’t return. There have been several comments about Heather Mills.

Here, I’ll make one linking everything together:

When Heather Mills went on TV and said she was being threatened by an underground organisation and that she had a box of evidence that would blow the lid on a secret that the world couldn’t handle because it was too sad, I think she was talking about John.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2021 12:13

Same goes for you. What business of yours is it what I post? You are now telling me I am not allowed to comment?

Everyone on here can post whatever they like, nobody can prevent them from from doing so. Confused

The thread has been strange because the title was 'Do you remember Heather Mills?' and yet it went off on a tangent. That's all.

I agree with this assessment.
Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2021 12:18

I thought you have given up @julieca?

julieca · 06/12/2021 12:18

@Sparklingbrook no I had given up talking to you.

Sparklingbrook · 06/12/2021 12:19

Well clearly not @julieca because you seem to be still. Grin

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 12:28

The westerly direction stuff was evidently based on the ‘katu-tugai’, which combined numerology with cartography. It was supposed to bring good luck.

TheBoots · 06/12/2021 13:43

My god is this still going on??!

Re. Heather and Bea taking holidays, she clearly had enough to fly her and Bea to LA in Club class (and a member of security in Economy) in 2008. That's not cheap...

@EYProvider That's in a Westerly direction!! Perhaps Yoko is after them too? Grin

julieca · 06/12/2021 13:57

@theboots that was just after the divorce was finalised, so yes she had £24 million at that stage.

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 14:20

You can laugh as much as you like, @TheBoots. It won’t change the facts. It might obfuscate and obscure them, which I suppose is the point of your little sneery icon. You’re a Yoko fan, I take it?

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 14:27

I mean, don’t get me wrong; I understand why Yoko is held up as a feminist icon by the brainwashed ‘radicals’ who think she is a hero. She practically invented identity politics after all.

I just don’t think it’s intelligent to accept what you’re told when the official narrative clearly doesn’t add up.

TheBoots · 06/12/2021 14:56

I genuinely have no opinion on Yoko one way or the other and know very little about her. But I do know wild conspiracy theorists when I encounter them.

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 15:36

Which bit of it is factually incorrect then, @TheBoots?

Shall we start with Sam Green?

Hodl · 06/12/2021 16:01

This is fascinating stuff! Particularly about Lennon and his murder, I didn't know hardly anything about Chapman until now.

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 16:46

@Hodl

Chapman admitted that he did it, so none of this was ever closely examined. The police had started to look at Yoko, but Chapman pleaded guilty so they closed the case.

I mean, I’m sure plenty of other people have put it together. Heather Mills for one, Goldman definitely, which is why he was dragged through the mud, despite that he interviewed nearly 2000 people.

But it would destroy Yoko, destroy Sean, destroy John’s legacy. He got what he wanted, which was to be remembered as the most legendary rock star in the history of all time - bigger than Elvis, bigger than Jesus and most importantly, bigger than Paul.

LucilleBluth · 06/12/2021 17:03

OP here. I’ve been checking in with this thread every few days. It’s taken a turn but I do love a conspiracy theory 😀

OP posts:
PinkyPromises · 06/12/2021 17:57

Hold on what? Heather Mills has done what? Worked out that Yoko was responsible for John Lennon's death? Did I read that right?

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 18:35

@PinkyPromises

Who’s to say it wasn’t John’s idea?

PinkyPromises · 06/12/2021 19:41

I'm so lost! Will go back and catch up.

LoveMySituation · 06/12/2021 21:21

Because in his very last interview he said he hoped it would be a long time until he's dead

EYProvider · 06/12/2021 21:38

Yes, he also said life begins at 40 and rammed the Ballard of John and Yoko as star-crossed lovers down the public’s throat lest we forget how it was written in the stars.

All of which was utter horseshit as they were essentially living separate lives by then. But had they both been tragically killed (as I would bet a million quid - if I had it - was the script he was reading from), it would have been so much more fitting. Double fantasy indeed.

By the way, he also used those interviews to set the record straight on who wrote what - putting his affairs in order so to speak.
