Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?

We live on the same road as my 3 childrens (10,9,7) school. We are directly across the road and the lollipop lady stands at our gate.

Everyone, including teachers comes past our house to get to and from school.

My husband changed the large let it snow sticker we had in our window so it says 'melon tits' on Thursday night
I didn't notice until I got home from work on Friday night. (I had some messages from people I know about it but can't check my personal phone at work. I have a work phone for emergencies)

Im not amused and I've taken it down.
He thinks it's funny and I should lighten up and put it back.

Lol I would find it funny but I'm rather childish like that.

With it being on a school route I can see why you're cross, the judgey mums will be having a field day.

MurielSpriggs · 28/11/2021 18:50

@CasaBonita

Pre kids I would have found it funny.

Post kids AND living next door to the primary school, not so much. I'd be embarrassed. You'll be gossiped about next week OP!

I'm afraid that I am further amused by the thought of all the Nice Ladies at the school gossiping, huffing and tutting, and trying to deflect questions from Tarquin about Melon Tits Grin

I do similar with mugs with letters on. Many's the time I've left shit and arse on a shelf in a shop. Mugs with "U" on are disappointingly rare though, which is kind of an inbuilt censor.

I used to work in Accounts at a very large company and there was some roller racking around the corner containing a load of lever arch folders, each with a reference letter on the spine. There was a 'character' (really was a funny bloke, a great laugh) who left and, a couple of weeks after his last day, somebody went into the racking and say the files all nicely rearranged to spell out 'TIN OF FRESH ARSE'. Grin

I also heard of somebody whose local vicar owned a Land Rover and they put one of these stickers on the back of it, when he was indoors. I hear he was innocently driving around the parish for some weeks before somebody drew his attention to it Grin

Should I 'lighten up' or would you be annoyed?
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 28/11/2021 19:31

*say the files

SAW the files

Assuming that your dh is over 14(!), yes, I'd be annoyed! How childish of him.

However, to be honest, I'd also be irritated by the original 'Let it snow' sign. Because I would very much prefer if it didn't!

mumda · 28/11/2021 20:41

Just change it to something else tomorrow.
Fawlty towers!

ineedsun · 28/11/2021 21:14

It’s a man. Grossly making fun of women. Misogynistic. You find blokes sniggering about big tits funny? hmm

I find anyone joking about big tits funny

PatButchersEarring · 28/11/2021 21:23

Yes. You need to lighten up. I'd be more embarassed about having 'Let It Snow' in my window in the first place.

IWillFindYou · 28/11/2021 22:03

This thread is so depressing.
I can’t believe women support this and find it ”funny”.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, mocking the few women who called out this bs.
Just sad.

timeisnotaline · 28/11/2021 22:09

As a one off it’s mildly amusing. I’d message them all back I had no idea dh had done that, here’s his number if you want to share your opinion with the responsible person. . Hopefully someone messages him! You’re not his answering service or his pr person after all.

He sounds like a good laugh

QueenofKattegat · 28/11/2021 23:08

@PhilCornwall1

It works well with cushions with letters on them in Dunelm too.

Endless fun when you are bored looking at curtains.

Candles with letters on for me. Always struggle to find a U though ☹
Marvellousmadness · 28/11/2021 23:36

Your dh is being a 5 yo. How immature. Id feel embarrassed for him
If it is just out on some random house I'd cringe but considering it is in full display for the whole school:big no no

SleepingStandingUp · 29/11/2021 00:07

@GetTheFlockOutOfHere

Oh dear God, imagine being married to some of the women on here.... Their poor men! (if they have one! I can't imagine most men staying with them tbh.)

Bet they shag in the dark, with marigolds on, and get undressed under the duvet! Grin

Yes, I'm sure my husband will leave me soon for not finding Melon Tits amusing. 🙄
LittleGwyneth · 29/11/2021 10:01

I think that's absolutely hilarious.

To be fair it would have been hard to right 'I respect women and don't regard their bodies as objects for my pleasure' from 'let it snow'
LittleGwyneth · 29/11/2021 10:03

WRITE, not right. The SHAME.

Wearingmycrown · 29/11/2021 10:12

I think his humour is wasted on you. That would make me laugh. I obviously wouldn’t leave it there but I’m sure all the teachers that did see it had a little chuckle to themselves & aren’t judging you as deviant parents

LittleMissTake · 29/11/2021 10:15

The 1970s are calling - they want your partner back.

ponkydonkey · 29/11/2021 10:27

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll
This is exactly the sort of thing I would find very amusing

People have different opinions from you shock.
5128gap · 29/11/2021 10:36

Its funny but not for public consumption when the audience are children.

TwoMuchTwoYoung · 29/11/2021 10:41

What I mainly got from your post was, what an easy school run you have and when they forget their packed lunch - jammy cow.
Very jealous.
