Dh was working late today. I have had a stressful afternoon with ds crying constantly if I left his side.

Anyway, eventually I get a call from dh, who offered to get pizza on the way home.

Lovely!

So he turns up with a dominos box. I am getting excited, until i open it. It's a meat feast. I dont eat red meat!!!

Fucking useless men.

I was really disappointed and had a go at him - I mean, we have been married for 12 years, and for most of that time I have been veggie, or have not eaten red meat. I think I was not veggie for about 2 years out of that time. He has gone to sulk upstairs and buggered if I am going to apologise.

Although I will confess to having a slightly dim view of the less fair sex. So shoot me.

And I have a son.

(hmc squares up defiantly)

well considering what 60% of internet traffic is supposed to be, I think complaining about pizza is relatively meritous.

cant argue with any of your other points pan!
but I have had pretty lousy life experiences.

YANBU. DH offers to get me a chinese as a treat on his way home from pub at 11.00 pm BUT wants me to find the menu - from the bottomless kitchen drawer, phone the take away and order etc so that he can just swan in and pick up. Perhaps I am being unreasonable but sort of think if it is a treat I shouldnt have to do much towards it - And after 12 years I would expect him to KNOW what to order......

DeePandcrisPandeven · 16/12/2007 10:56

he's going to bring home a Chinaman from the pub for you? Wow! Very liberal relationship you have there......

Nightynight · 16/12/2007 11:04

pan, you are being very intolerant this morning

DeePandcrisPandeven · 16/12/2007 11:07

I know.

Great , innit!!

Elasticwoman · 16/12/2007 15:32

Bunnyhoho: I do provide a cooked meal every night, and even if dh and I are going out, I normally have to cook for the dc. Recently they were fed elsewhere when we went out (v early) and it was an enormous treat for me - I actually had time to get ready.

At the moment I work (for money) about 4 hours a week but next year am likely to be doing a lot more hours. It is the mothers who are out working all day and then have to come home and cook for a family who have the hardest time. I don't know how or if I will cope.

Elizabetth · 16/12/2007 16:01

I hope that he's now fully briefed on which pizza to buy you the next time he goes to Dominos BunnyHunny.

I didn't think you really meant it when you said all men were useless. Clearly they aren't - the ones who manage to bring home the right pizzas demonstrate that.

VVVExcitedAboutChristmasQV · 16/12/2007 20:20

Of course you'll cope Elastic. You'll have to. Just like the rest of the working mums. Including getting your beloved to help out as necessary.

Elasticwoman · 16/12/2007 20:27

I'm sure you're right VVV.

handlemecarefully · 16/12/2007 23:11

Pan I am trying to work up some righteous indignation...and failing

DeePandcrisPandeven · 16/12/2007 23:19

would you appreciate some assistance??

handlemecarefully · 16/12/2007 23:32

Go on, have a try.

Unfortunately I am unflappable tonight

DeePandcrisPandeven · 16/12/2007 23:36
