Had to Google because I didn't know who he was or The Bluetones - which leads me nicely into, no, not been hit on by him.

After goigling I do remember the song Slight Return, but thought of them more like a one-hit wonder.

I’ve seen Mark and the Bluetones so many times. He was a very charming and witty frontman. Needless to say I won’t be again after this. He sounds like an utter arsehole, those poor women. I’m not surprised he’s a womaniser at all, but that article paints the story of a deeply unpleasant human being.

What an unbelievable arsehole. I really like the Bluetones' music, but I don't think I'll fancy listening to it again now.

She’s brave. I love the photo with them all together. Not to make too light and bouncy of a truly horrible situation, but that’s an amazing way to deal with this and her DD is a lucky wee thing with a mum like that.

Yeah I loved the bluetones. Seen them many times. Used to fancy the pants off Mark, and he's very charming and charismatic. Not at all surprised he's a womaniser and a cheat but surprised about the abuse - I believe her though. Won't be listening to them again.

Womanising and cheating is abuse though.

It’s child abuse as well as spousal abuse. It causes trauma and toxicity that cascades through generations.

Yeah, me. I didn't write this quote from Anna's blog, but I could have done - word for word:

He told me at length about his 'crazy ex', and all the cruel ways that she kept his baby daughter from him. I'd just got out of an abusive and controlling relationship, and I thought we 'bonded' over our shared experiences. I was telling the truth about mine.

The other details in Anna's blog are sickening. What a vile man.

I’ve seen the bluetones and him solo over the years. He was a good frontman. He and the band have a very loyal following even in recent times and they and him are quite active still. I can imagine some of these fans being flattered by his attention.

He sounds like an awful man. No excuses. Glad they’ve got their stories together and out so he can’t gas light them any longer. .

I had to google him,. He's no oil painting.

Still, I've been love bombed by a narcissist so .................. not judging anybody taken in by his staggering works of great fiction.

Well, I clearly agree with you, posted my post before I saw you were hung drawn and quartered, but part of being love bombed is the attraction. The men who love bombed me, I thought they were attractive. It's what makes it all so toxic. They know that. They play on it.

Used to be a fan. Not after reading this.
I once got off with the guitarist. Later found out he was in a long-term relationship at the time, so cheating clearly runs in the band.

Thanks @BruiserWoods just because I questioned his attractiveness doesn't mean I condone his behaviour.

I think it’s wrong to say he’s unattractive. Not that it’s the pertinent part of this thread. But he’s not bad looking.

I just read Anna’s article and I believe every word. Absolutely shameful that anyone can do what he did to her and those other women. I’m also gutted that some seriously formative years in my life were got through to a soundtrack of bluetones songs. Now all absolutely ruined for me. I’ve got CDs made for me by an ex with songs that sounded like they’d been written for me. Splitting with him was so bittersweet and knowing that the man singing those songs was such a vile narcissistic twat is making me feel sad.
