Richmond sausages

Landof · 11/11/2021 17:51

So tea tonight is: mash, Richmond sausages, brocolli, one small Yorkshire pudding and gravy.

Question: how many Richmond sausages?

OP posts:
PigletJohn · 11/11/2021 18:37

I would have three large sausages, but I agree about Richmond being surprisingly horrible. Pink sludge in a skin.

Own-brand sausages are likely to be better and cheaper too.

E.g. Richmond at Tesco, £4.64/kg, Pork 42%

Tesco Pork Sausages, £3.75/kg, Pork 72%

The prosecution rests.

SexyNeckbeard · 11/11/2021 18:37

@DillonPanthersTexas

The fact that they are made out of lips, ears and arseholes would be enough for me not to eat them, add the fact that they have the texture of playdoh and the anaemic colour of a two day old cadaver just makes them completely off the menu.
I really fancy a couple of them now
pancakesonsunday · 11/11/2021 18:38

I also love the veggie ones- much better than any other veggie sausage on the market.

If I'm buying meat sausages though then I'd much rather by proper, outdoor bred pork sausages.

pancakesonsunday · 11/11/2021 18:38

(And I always have two)

beigebrownblue · 11/11/2021 18:38

i love their veggie sausages.

Best I've found.

NeedsCharging · 11/11/2021 18:38

Ffs there are threads on here about food poverty.
Parents genuinely struggling to feed their children balanced meals or infant meals at all and so many sealioning mumsnetter crowing about "giving to food banks" and "helping the poor" who then ridicule people who are buying what they view as cheap food so bad they wouldn't feed it to their dog!

You should be fucking ashamed.
Answer the OPS question don't post to belittle her.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 11/11/2021 18:39

They're horrible. Sorry OP

GertrudeBElion · 11/11/2021 18:39

@NeedsCharging

I'd say most basic supermarket sausages are cheaper but contain almost twice as much meat

Asda own frozen sausages contain 32% pork
Richmond frozen sausages contain 42% pork.

Really you are just being a snob.

I'm really not

Richmond 8 pork sausages £1.99 (£4.85/kg) 42% pork
Asda Butchers Selection 8 pork sausages £1.60 (£3.52/kg) 72% pork

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/11/2021 18:39

The question is 'why so mean with the Yorkshire puddings?'

furbabymama87 · 11/11/2021 18:39

I eat meat but I prefer the vegan ones. I would have 3.

Kpo58 · 11/11/2021 18:41

They actually contain meat?! Shock
You could have fooled me.

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 11/11/2021 18:41

Had some for the first time the other day and loved them. 2 if I am good, 3 if not.

MrsFoxyplease · 11/11/2021 18:41

3

ThinWomansBrain · 11/11/2021 18:41

i've got food in the fridge that I need to cook this evening - but I really want sausages now.
NOT Richmond ones - Heck or Waitrose
Or pigs in blankets

vampirethriller · 11/11/2021 18:42
  1. I love Richmond sausages. Can't do sausages with bits in, so no fancy ones here.
NeedsCharging · 11/11/2021 18:42

Richmond 8 pork sausages £1.99 (£4.85/kg) 42% pork
Asda Butchers Selection 8 pork sausages £1.60 (£3.52/kg) 72% pork

I clearly said FROZEN.
The Asda frozen sausages are £1 39% pork
Richmond frozen are £1.50 49% pork.

This thread isn't about food poverty though is it? it's quite obviously about Richmond Sausages given that they're mentioned by name three times in the OP.
amiafreakofnature · 11/11/2021 18:42

It's lashfords sausages all the way I'm afraid

Samedaysame · 11/11/2021 18:43

Absolutely not one they are disgusting. Buy from your local butcher

Georgyporky · 11/11/2021 18:43

I'm quite into nose-to-tail eating, & have no objection to "lips, ears and arseholes" as such. Brawn contains ears & lips.

But there is no need to turn them into a nasty, pink slurry.

ThinWomansBrain · 11/11/2021 18:44

& the answer on how many - you cook the entire pack.
serve three, leave the others to cool for tomorrow
sometimes there'll be one left over in the morning
Faries must eat them.

Iamanicepersonreally · 11/11/2021 18:44

I've never tried them, but definitely going to try the veggie ones. I'd have three. Possibly four but not Yorkshire puddings

PigletJohn · 11/11/2021 18:45

The £1 a kg sausages are obviously not as good.

GertrudeBElion · 11/11/2021 18:46

And I clearly didn't say FROZEN so I'm not sure what your point was.
Balonziaga · 11/11/2021 18:47

I want sausages now. But nice ones like Heck or Jolly Hog. Actually Tesco Finest Cumberland would do just fine.

And I would have three.
