Apparently I'm crazy for finding 17c too cold.

I'm currently wearing a top, a hoodie and a big blanket/hoodie thing and I still have a cold nose.

Please tell me I'm not crazy and 17c is bloody cold to have it at home. What temp is your perfect temp at home in the evening?

Thank goodness the majority are saying 20 degrees+, sometimes these threads make me feel like a right weirdo! I’ve seen threads before when everyone seems to insist that anything over 16 degrees is extravagant.

We moved to a new place recently so this is our first winter here and I’m still experimenting with the heating but I’m finding that around 19 in the daytime and 20/21 for the evening seems to be about right here. And I’m not someone who likes hot weather at all.

I like to sleep in a cold room as I get so hot under the duvet, so our bedroom isn’t heated much, but the other rooms are kept at a comfortable temperature. And I have the bathroom set a bit warmer than the rest of the place so that I can be toasty after a shower.

My hive account tells me that my home runs 0.5c higher than the other people with hive around me. So I know I'm well in range.

I wonder if my neighbours have the same competitive urge as the average mnetter and if I could kick off a temperature martyr war by sticking my thermostat in the fridge for a few hours a day?

17 is what I put mine on overnight!! It’s at least 20/21 in the day (would be more if husband didn’t WFH and didn’t know too!)

Good move for the environment 🤣

We got a smart meter a couple of months ago and it is working on DP who likes to use the heating more than me. He came up to me yesterday going, ‘OMG it cost [25p or whatever it was] to heat the house by 1 degree!’

We have ours around 21c as being cold makes me really unhappy. I have some friends whose houses I dread visiting because they are freezing.
