Sister has a boyfriend who I don't like but put up with to keep her happy. They are coming for Christmas staying with our parents. For the first time we are at ours for Christmas which I am pleased about. He has apparently paid to hire a karaoke machine for Christmas day. I hate karaoke I would have to leave the house for the day. He is planning on setting up in my hallway which is the main access to the rest of the house. The thought of not being able to talk for listening to him singing droney songs makes me mad. Ive told him no he is pissed off now he and my sister who I do want to see aren't coming. She is pissed off at me because I said no politely. I just said it'll be too much. Apparently it was a special treat and he has paid hundreds that he can't get back.
Unreasonable behaviour on my part or not?

If you did hire a van and transport them to the ferry, he'd probably only rig up the system and perform live karaoke as you drove, in the manner of those electioneering loudspeaker vans from the 1970s. No so much Fly Me to the Moon, but Just Pop Me Down the M20 (We'll Be Fine from There).

Sadly not a wind up. Believe me or not but this is one of a very odd series of requests that takes the biscuit. I could see you would think it a wind up if id actually contented to any of the sorry charade Its just typical CF behaviour. The first time I met the man my sister was in the UK visiting him they met up in the home town I still live in. I agreed to take them back to the hotel they were staying in which was on the way back to mine. The next day I got a phone call at avout 10 am asking me to drive him back to his home town 45 miles away coz he had missed his 10 o clock train and there wasn't another till 10.45 am. He got arsey because I wouldn't come out of work. Thus is the tyoe if self centred idiit he is.

This guy is a nightmare

He is weird TBH im ot sure about ny my sister she has been in an abusive relationship before but im not sure its the case here. It feels different and as much as I love my sister she has had CF tendencies throughout her life. She is the younger so plays helpless and people pander to her.
Happy to update as any new developments take place currently its me 1 them 0.
Im being all gracious and still extending the invitation regardless providing the karsoke machine doesn't attend although I am the cause of their imminent financial demise!

Has she asked anyone else-your parents etc-to help with the driving? Or to have the karaoke in their house one day over Xmas?
