Cups used once don't go in the dishwasher!

I have family down. It's raining. So endless cups of tea are in order. However, one member of the family likes whisking cups away the instant you put them down and puts them in the dishwasher. Then another clean mug is used for the next round of tea, even though it is the same four people drinking it and all have personal, identifiable mugs. And obviously once whisked away and put in the dishwasher not everyone remembers their own mug so you can't get them out again. Also risks offending the person 'helping'. Now the dishwasher is running and my extensive mug collection is taking up all the space. So drinking out of a 'non mug' vessel and have to do the actual washing up in another lot.
I know this is a first world problem, just thankful I actually have a dishwasher otherwise I would have to do two lots of washing up by hand.

Aibu? Or just a wee bit precious.
Yabu: It's normal to get a new mug for each refill.
YAnbu: whisking is unnecessary and fussing.

I use the same mug all day. Don’t even rinse it in between. What’s the point? 🤷🏻‍♀️

We used to do two teas then dish wash. However, our water is very hard and the tea cups were getting stained (despite using filtered water) and the dishwasher wasn't getting the stains out due to the limescale. So, we've switched to fresh cup every time and the cups are stain free. If I had extra guests putting pressure on the mugs though I'd prob do a quick mug hand wash. YANBU though.

I have a pot of tea and a bone china cup. I have 3 small cups of tea from pot. Then I wash out cup by hand ready for next drink. I always use the same coffee mug and rinse out in between drinks.

I'd find it irritating but couldn't get excited about it.
How long do youhave to put up with them for?

Reusing Right away is fine but using the same mug all day without washing it is a bit grim.

1 mug per day here, with a quick swill if swapping from coffee to tea and, (shock horror), I use the same spoon all day (1 for coffee, 1 for tea) and put them on spoon rests in between consumption.
All washed by hand before bed.
No dishwasher available here.Wink

A fair few days more and it's raining again today. I do think at the very least one cup, one pot is a reasonable compromise. I don't think doing two lots of dishwasher running can be eco, whatever anyone says. It's a second hand model so runs for a long time even on the eco cycle.
