If you've watched the documentary black and white by Ashley Banjo you will see what I mean.

This man is the most racist man I've seen on TV in recent years.

He's a disgrace.

OP posts:
Danzig · 26/10/2021 13:07

it doesn't matter where he does it. if I was to make racist comments in the privacy I'd my home to a friend who I warned before hand, it would still be racist.

You really are going to great lengths to defend a man joking about assaulting his Muslim guardner and casually using the worse racial slurs out there.

He jokes about fat, thin, bald, old, ginger people. Is that wrong also?

Have you been to see him? Have you listened to or watched his DVD's?
Danzig · 26/10/2021 13:14

If those jokes co sosted of nothing more than yelling insults and slurs, then yes.

Although I don't think calling someone bald is the same as calling them the n word or the p word. You seem to see nothing wrong with racial slurs or insults though.

Danzig · 26/10/2021 13:15

No, I'm not giving money to a racist. Are toy denying that he said what the article I linked quoted?

Pmsl. Dear lord!! You are offering an opinion when you've never actually watched/listened to his stuff, lol. As for MSM, I don't believe a word that they say. I think I will leave it here because I can't take you seriously now.
Mamamia7962 · 26/10/2021 13:31

Danzig - He hasn't really got a Muslim gardener, everything he says is made up. He doesn't need to encourage people to laugh at or put down women. Look at the comments made on this forum by women to other women, and there's at least one thread every day from someone running down their mother in law.

There are other comedians who are just as offensive such as Jimmy Carr and Ricky Gervais but for some reason they are still allowed on mainstream TV, wonder if it's a class thing?

Danzig · 26/10/2021 14:12

when did Jimmy Carr or Ricky Gervais ever call anyone the n word?

Danzig · 26/10/2021 14:12

Yes please do leave it. No point arguing with a racist.

Mamamia7962 · 26/10/2021 14:36

Danzig - I don't know if they have used the N word but they have both made racist jokes, or are you saying it's ok to make racist jokes as long as the N word isn't used.

Danzig · 26/10/2021 14:50

No I'm not saying that that any racist joke is okay. But I do think yelling out the n word and the p work are particularly blatant and can't believe people on here are defending it, tbh.
Mamamia7962 · 26/10/2021 16:06

Nobody on here has said using those words is ok, but what people are objecting to is the ridiculous cancellation culture. Nobody is forced to watch comedians that they may find offensive. There are warnings when the shows are advertised so if you don't like them stay away.

CherryPipss · 26/10/2021 16:13

I've had to name change for this for what will soon become obvious reasons Grin

I'm related to Roy Brown .. I shan't say how. I can confirm his act is just that .. an act. In real life? Totally different. You'll just have to take my word for that.

He has a certain demographic he appeals to and those are the people who pay to see him. He's obviously still very popular in the North East for example.

Having said all that, would I go and see his act? Nope. Do I like his act? Again, nope. Do I think people should be able to choose to see him? Yes of course

Cancel culture is woke madness. If you don't like something, then don't seek it out or watch it. If enough people feel the same, 'cancellation' is automatic

Danzig · 26/10/2021 18:26

He has a certain demographic he appeals to and those are the people who pay to see him.

Yeah, racists.

CherryPipss · 26/10/2021 18:32

@Danzig so what though? Let people think for themselves FFS. I think for myself and choose not to watch that stuff. I don't think this means I can tell other people what they should think and do

Danzig · 26/10/2021 18:43

Whose telling others what to think and do?

CMZ2018 · 26/10/2021 18:49

Don’t go and see him then, and stop looking to be offended.

Mysterian · 26/10/2021 19:34

Jim Davidson talking about politically correct things. Start from 7 minutes.

He is very very racist.

logsonlogsoff · 26/10/2021 19:42

He’s a dick and I wouldn’t give him the steam off my loss anymore than I would Dave Chapelle but there are still people who’ll defend these bigots to the death.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 26/10/2021 19:42

@CMZ2018 stop looking ? 🙄

I don't know when Jim Davidson or chubby brown was last on regular TV. They were effectively out of the public's vision, unless the public bought a dvd, went to their show.

I do not know their individual finances or current net worth, but it seems Ashley Banjo has or will have brought a lot of attention to Jim Davidson from which Jim Davidson is profiting from.

Was that his aim?

Mamamia7962 · 26/10/2021 20:22

IsleofRum - I would think it was more the bosses at ITV knowing that more people would tune in to see what Jim Davidson had to say. They knew it would make for explosive TV.

Abraxan · 26/10/2021 20:30

@Nat6999

Chubby Brown has been banned from Council venues in Sheffield, there is a 40,000+ names petition to have his gig reinstated. The majority of people want the council to back down.
Many of the petition people are not from Sheffield. The majority of people in Sheffield have not signed the petition. There is definitely no evidence that the majority of people living in Sheffield want his gig to be reinstated. The majority either don't even know of the petition or don't want to sign it.

There are 735 thousand people in Sheffield. Even if all of the people who signed the petition were locals it's only 0.05% in favour. That is not a majority.

Abraxan · 26/10/2021 20:42

MamsellMarie
I am quite uncomfortable that people think it's ok to stop someone performing

No one is preventing them from performing.
However all venues are able to determine who they want to book. Sheffield council decided that RCB was not suitable for their venues. That's their choice.
Here in Sheffield we have many venues suitable for such shoes. He could try one of the many others that are not owned by the council.
