Wish I could start a poll. Feeling utterly spent right now. Admittedly I've put off vaccination due to the reported menstrual issues but now I've had a bit if change of heart that we are starting fertility treatments. I want to be able to enjoy this pregnancy instead of worrying about covid, it will already be tough enough after a year and 2 miscarriages.

It would really help to hear from women and what they actually experienced as far as menstrual disruption. Please reply even if everything was fine. I'm trying to get as much info as I can. Would you mind sharing which vaccine you got and if you had cycle disruption, what happened and how long did it last?

Pfizer X 2 doses and no changes to my cycle.

whatswithtodaytoday · 18/10/2021 20:45

Pfizer, no disruption. I was 39.

YeOldeTrout · 18/10/2021 20:46

AZ. Skipped one period than back to "normal". I'm mid 50s so my periods are supposed to be erratic.

BingBongBoo86 · 18/10/2021 20:46

Pfizer - after 1st jab had bad period pain but no change to dates. 2nd jab - had two very heavy periods in one month! I’m 35, usually have no pain and am very regular.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 18/10/2021 20:47

I had Pfizer. After the first dose my period was about 3 days late and slightly heavier. Back to normal the next month and was unaffected by the next dose. Am now pregnant.

Sunshinealligator · 18/10/2021 20:54

I had pfizer, after gastric sleeve in Aug of 2020 my period was 28 days every month until March when I had my vaccine, periods became a bit erratic.
After my second Jab in June my period came 10 days early.
I fell pregnant in August after 12 years of interfility. Hope that information helps

Cotswoldmama · 18/10/2021 20:55

My first period after second vaccine was 2 weeks late but then returned to normal. It wasn't effected at all by the first. And I guess it could have been late for any number of reasons not necessarily because of the vaccine.

ABCeasyasdohrayme · 18/10/2021 20:59

AZ, I'm 41, my cycle has been messed up since. I'm off for a week then on for 3 then off for 2 and on for another 2 then nothing for a few weeks then on for another 3.

Its been 9 and 6 months since my jabs.

I would still have the vaccine again though and it won't put me off getting my booster.

Star81 · 18/10/2021 21:00

Astra no issues at all

beckyCarlos · 18/10/2021 21:03

I've had one dose of moderna (next one due soon) usually 24-26 days, had it on day 4 of cycle and that cycle was 34 days(!) I'm due on the day I'm due for dose 2, waiting for nurse consultation for IVF at fertility clinic so hopefully it doesnt throw me too much out of whack! X

Fallagain · 18/10/2021 21:06

Nope. Two AZ vaccines.

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 18/10/2021 21:06

AZ Yes. Heavier, with worse pre-menstrual symptoms.

BeautifulTulips · 18/10/2021 21:16

AZ no changes for me
DD who is a teenager had Pfizer 4 weeks ago. Period started as expected the day after and also today so no changes for her either thankfully

Pinkspecs · 18/10/2021 21:18

I had Pfizer no changes.

HeeHawSeeSaw · 18/10/2021 21:20

Had Pfizer, no problems at all after either jab. It was dead on time and the same as usual.

Getyourownback · 18/10/2021 21:20

Pfizer: no change at all.

Minniem2020 · 18/10/2021 21:33

I had pfzier and no disruption at all , fell pregnant the month after.

CausingChaos2 · 18/10/2021 21:40

My sister has had Pfizer and had unexpected heavy bleeding shortly afterwards. Not sure if she had any side effects from the second jab.

I’m waiting to start IVF, weighing up whether to be vaccinated. I already have messed up cycles and the last thing I need is for them to get even worse when I’m about to start treatment.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 18/10/2021 21:47

AZ and was fine, haven't had a period in 4 months though after catching covid

UncomfortableBadger · 18/10/2021 21:50

My cycle had been exactly 29 days reliably for years, even down to the hour. That is, until I had my first Pfizer dose.

After the first dose, I had 3 periods in 8 weeks. In subsequent months, I then had irregular cycles varying between 23 and 34 days. I also found my periods more painful post-vaccine.

It’s so upsetting as I’d been tracking my cycles religiously in anticipation of starting TTC. I used to be able to pinpoint ovulation but alas no longer.

And before any nutters come on to lambast me, I lost my 58 y/o MIL to Covid last year so believe me, I’m ALL for the vaccine. I just resent that so many of us are being ignored despite a vast number of reports about wonky menstrual cycles.

JumpingPiglets · 18/10/2021 21:52

I had Pfizer, no changes

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 18/10/2021 22:01

I’m on the mini pill to help with endometriosis so I don’t tend to get a period. I had the pfizer vaccine and its not caused any changes to this.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 18/10/2021 22:02

AZ, my period was over a week early a day after the vaccine, then everything went back to normal

lazylinguist · 18/10/2021 22:02

Astra Zeneca. No change here.

specialsauce · 18/10/2021 22:02

AZ. Periods totally messed up since.
Very heavy long period after 1st vaccine, then only 8 days break, then another period, then normal for 1 month, then started bleeding again 4 days after my last period finished and it hasn't stopped yet - it's been 2 weeks now. So that almost 4 weeks bleeding with only 4 days totally clear. Sorry if TMI. Ringing the doc tmrw. I was regular as clockwork b4 the first jab. I'm mid 40's though so could be perimenopause but seems strange to coincide so exactly withe the jabs.
