you cant moan about the cost of something, because there is always osmeone here who has a hell of a lot less, wo they lambast you for being able to even think about getting it.
or they moan at you for having too much time on your hands
or too little
or being a sahm
or not being one
or bloody anthing. its just not possible to have a moan about anything anymore. every one is soooo pc about everything.
its turning into real life.

talulasmum · 09/12/2007 16:04

but it is real life? who do you think your talking to on here, robots ?

what do you want to moan about pukka?

Desiderata · 09/12/2007 16:05

I quite agree, pukka. How easily people are offended these days.

MN is far more pc than real life, though. Nauseatingly so, on occasion.

TenLordsaLapin · 09/12/2007 16:05

Yes you are!

beeper · 09/12/2007 16:05

Moan away.......

Hmm

We are blessed with money...but don't buy anyone xmas prezzies...as we don't do xmas

I am a SAHM loud and pround... and was SAHM when we were skint.

I home-educate and would never send a child of mine into the grips of the system again.

I don't give a crap about global warming, infact I think its a massive lie concoted by secret groups of men who want to control the world.

I am not PC about many things.

I also throw away glass jars into the normal bin in secret cause I cant be fagged to go to the bottle bank miles away.

I quaff down mcdonalds in secret but pretend I hate them.

I listen to Lional Richie in the privacy of my own home, oh what a feeling.

talulasmum · 09/12/2007 16:06
Grin
manchita · 09/12/2007 16:06

I feel like there are a gang of angry parents, taking all of their aggression out on (usually quite mild) op's.

manchita · 09/12/2007 16:09

Some people are extremely serious on mn too aren't they? They write as if they were sitting an exam

Nightynight · 09/12/2007 16:10

blimey, beeper

wait til your local council reduces your bin allowance to half a bin a fortnight mwah ha ha

pukkapatch · 09/12/2007 16:26

its like everything in real life now.
used to be, you d keep your mouth shut about stuff that had happened in rl and came on here to laugh about, moan about, rant about it.
now i come on here and get jumped on because....... well for all the reasons why i kept my mouth shut and expression carefully blank, in real life.

i dont have anything specific to moan about right now. except bloody dh, but then what's new aboutthat? and bloody kids, and christmas is really really getting me down.
but it doesnt seem possible tomoan about anything on mn anymore.

OP posts:
talulasmum · 09/12/2007 16:29

hey, come on.

yes it is. are you ok?

EricScrooge · 09/12/2007 16:36

I'm not PC or precious about stuff either - unlike some on here.

There is a good balance on here though of people like me and people who want to share the most intimate anal obsessions and talk kiddie shit all the time.

Just like real life i guess.

bossybritches · 09/12/2007 16:36

Pukka I think you are right, don't know if it's because there are too many people or the PC lobby are infiltrating the membership or what but there seems to be a whole crowd who jump on anyone with a different view or as you say who just want to offload!

But keep posting Pukka there are enough of us to see the PC lobby off!

(please back me up if I get flamed for saying this!!)

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 09/12/2007 16:38

pukka, maybe it's good that people come along to defend their point. IMO mn would be pretty crap if every post said '*** has pissed me off' with a dozen replies of 'Oh, poor you'.

People have different opinions, so they post differently. Yes, it does expect you to think about other people when you post but what's wrong with that??

If it wasn't for MN, I'd still be a right obnoxious twit that looked down my nose at anyone different, but now, I'm not (Well, not all the time).

NAB3littlemonkeys · 09/12/2007 16:38

I think when people say it isn't so bad/there is always someone worse off, they are trying to make you feel better; but when you are the one suffering it makes no odds and doesn't help that someone else has a bigger worry.

Like the odds of losing a child are 1 to 1000. for example, means nothing if yours is the one.

pukkapatch · 09/12/2007 16:38

thanks bossy i love the name by the way.
eric, scrooge, nighty, everyone.

i really really dont want to watch what i say when typing to anonymouse peopel online the way i have to when in rl. or even on facebook. but it seems to be the way mn is going.

OP posts:
TenLordsaLapin · 09/12/2007 16:40

I am LOL at MN being PC though . Have you met Desi??

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 09/12/2007 16:40

pukka, I don't think you should have to watch what you say, just be prepared to back up your opinion.
I'll happily say what I think and if anyone disagrees then I'll argue my point.
I do however try to be more tactful towards people who may be feeling utterly shite, and because of my post, feel even worse.

pukkapatch · 09/12/2007 16:41

totally agree nab.
i;m jsut thinking that recently it has been impossible to defend any opinion that hasnt agreed with everyone else's completyly because so many people jump on you, that unless you have a very tough skin, and b lots andlots and lots of time on hand to defend yourself, it is simpler to just slink away because you havent got the time and or energy to defend your pov.

OP posts:
EricScrooge · 09/12/2007 16:42

Anyway - who cares? I don't.

Just type what you think.

If people disagree with you - why let it bother you? It is just letters on a screen from people that are probably so far removed from your beliefs and lifestyle that you would never normally talk to them in RL anyway.

Keep on typing...........

zippitippitoes · 09/12/2007 16:42

lol..you are taking life too serious babe

x

EricScrooge · 09/12/2007 16:43

(that was a moan at your moan there - in case you hadn't noticed.........)

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 09/12/2007 16:45

Now that pukka I totally agree with. I have posted on threads so sure of my point and spent an hour or two arguing fervently, only to go and do dinner, and come back to an extra million and one posts. With my points still not being addressed.
Now that pisses me off.
I've also had comments of mine turned into a thread of their own, but without the person responsible asking me why I feel that way about my own bloody comment!
Now, that is a case of 'help me shout this poster down' if ever I heard one.

WhenAChildIsBored · 09/12/2007 16:46

wow beeper, you sound like a right twat!

pukkapatch · 09/12/2007 16:46

yes, i am taking life too seriously.
but just want to complelty blank. and escape away from real life, and its not happening.

OP posts:
pukkapatch · 09/12/2007 16:50

threads often come to a natural conclusion. all the people, including the original poster seem to be agreed on a pov, or at least agree to disagreee, and then a few hours later, new people come along, go over the same old stuff, or new stuff, completly forgetting what was written already, etce tc etc. and the thread goes off in a direction completly alien to what had been discussed. andd none of the original ideas, pov, are even addressed .but the people are often slagged off.
