To ask how often you shower

Inspired by a lot of comments posted in a recent thread on here! (Apologies if there is already a thread on here as I'm not too sure how to navigate MN fully yet.)

How often do you shower/have a bath? Twice a day, daily, couple times a week, weekly etc. If you don't shower daily, do you just have a quick sink wash on the days you don't shower or do you simply brush your teeth and straight out of the door? I'm intrigued to know and hoping people will be a bit more honest as it's an anonymous forumWink

On this recent thread, a poster had made several comments saying they don't understand how people only wash themselves with their hands and not a flannel or sponge. AIBU to think that using your hands to wash is quite common and seems to be done by the majority?

There was also a comment by another poster about not washing their legs in the shower as soap and hot water runs down them so no need to focus on these areas specifically.
Quite a random topic but I'm intrigued to hear from other people on here

Every night if I been working as im a nurse .Also if Ive been exercising or its hot.If I have a dayoff doing nothing probably would miss a day

Billandben444 · 14/10/2021 22:56

Once a year on my birthday. Christmas I have a flannel wash. Fhs.

Mymapuddlington · 14/10/2021 22:57

Wash hair once a week.
Son hasn’t had his hair washed in 10 years and it’s beautiful so I’d go no poo if I could.
Wash in the morning with hands/soap.
Shower every other day. Bath once or twice a week.

When I’m suffering with my depression all answers would be never, along with brushing teeth and hair Blush

floridapalmtree · 14/10/2021 22:57

Twice a day, in the morning when I get up, and just before bed.

Mymapuddlington · 14/10/2021 22:58

Growing up bath night was Sunday. Always told to brush my teeth but I never washed which is probably why I’m not an every day person. And yes I was a stinky kid/teenager lol

eightlivesdown · 14/10/2021 22:59

Daily & wash hair. No flannel.

queenofarles · 14/10/2021 22:59

Never understood a sink bath, surly nowadays a shower is quicker not mentioning

Why would anyone want water dripping everywhere ,Confused

YellowMonday · 14/10/2021 23:01

@UnitedRoad the best description I've heard is washing "naughty bits and pits". Not eloquent but perfect description.

Trisolaris · 14/10/2021 23:06

Every other day shower, sink wash arm pits daily with just hands and soap no flannel. Wash hair twice a week. I don’t sweat much though. In the summer or on holiday I might shower twice a day though so I’m very much an ‘as needed’ person.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/10/2021 23:07

At least once a day. I have itchy, sensitive skin and it helps keep it in check although I use very minimal amounts of shower gel or soap as they can irritate.

me4real · 14/10/2021 23:07

Bath every morning except maybe if having an occasional complete and utter slob-out at home (I live alone.) I stink otherwise. I can't get at my pum-pum as much as it needs with a sink/scrub. It needs a bath, or the type of shower where you can lift off and aim the head where you need it.

Twillow · 14/10/2021 23:08

Do you mean wash in the shower only using your hands? Yes, of course.
Most days shower, odd day in a rush just a sink wash, love a bath but cutting down to odd one for a treat due to fuel (and environmental) issues.

me4real · 14/10/2021 23:08

Wash hair twice a week as it's quite bleach damaged so I try to be gentle with it.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/10/2021 23:08

Oh and no flannel

LoisWilkers · 14/10/2021 23:09

twice a day. Just using hands. No loofah, flannel, exfoliating gloves (I used to use my exfoliating gloves twice a day....).

me4real · 14/10/2021 23:09

I only possess a bath, no shower.

JohnStonesMissus · 14/10/2021 23:10

Every day, I feel minging if I don't..

EspressoDoubleShot · 14/10/2021 23:11

Daily, and if it’s been busy at work twice a day
Use hands and a doofer
Moisture daily too

Not at all random. Possibly one of the most rehashed topics on MN.

Franticbutterfly · 14/10/2021 23:12

Every morning, sometimes in the evening as well. My hairdresser is horrified that I also wash my hair every day as it is bleached but it doesn't affect it.

plinkplinkfizzer · 14/10/2021 23:13

I shower daily , wash all over with a shower puff and soap .

Workinghardeveryday · 14/10/2021 23:15

I bath once a month if I need it, sometimes 6 weeks. Wash my hair in the bath I am in. Don’t believe in using bath products at all, water as nature intended.

Joking, bath every night without fail come what may so does everyone else in this house - with shower gel 😁

EspressoDoubleShot · 14/10/2021 23:15

What is your point? You’re simply rehashing the pithy put down. Hardly original
Emanchego · 14/10/2021 23:15

Every other day and I don't smell 😲🙊

NouvelleVague · 14/10/2021 23:18

Every day. Feel minging if I don't, psychologically as well as physically. I shower every day even if feeling depressed, ill, in pain, in labour, in hospital. There's very few occasions when I've gone more than 2 days without a shower/bath, and I think if I was so ill that I didn't wash for 3+ days then that would probably mean it was deaths door stuff. I don't know if that sounds bonkers. But I also would say the same speech about a cup of tea Grin
