Insulate Britain - a bunch of loonies or rightful cause?

I'm watching the videos with Insulate Britain people blocking the motorists, people driving their children to school, hospitals or simply going to work.
I don't get the cause and the way they chose. I'm a leftist myself and participated at demonstrations but this, I really don't understand.
How is blocking normal people doing their normal business going to achieve anything?
If it happened to me, I would be pissed off and wouldn't care one iota about the cause. Why don't they protest in front of Boris's expensive nursery, blocking ways to Queen's residences and parliament but instead target people who didn't cause the problem?

I see the weather forecast for London is bad all next week - wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Not sure how it would work anyway, since they have no proper hierarchy and any idiot can speak for them (and any idiot frequently does). Apart from the weather, what's to stop some just carrying on regardless?

I’d say they’re a deliberate ploy to discredit the environmental cause, seeing as they cause maximum disruption for the people who can do least to achieve their stated aim.

Batshitcrazywoman, exactly my point, sorry for the people affected but not everyone needs an ambulance, not every ambulance is blocked, this protest does not affect everyone

It’s Civil disobedience. Wouldn’t be effective if it wasn’t annoying. Better than violence, or doing nothing (aka tweeting/commenting online).
