A partner or family

leavesthataregreen · 09/10/2021 11:55

Good legs. Even when I was underweight and skeletal I still had massive footballers thighs and fat knees. Only surgery could change them.

A good singing voice. I can't sing in tune. Can hear the tune in my head clearly but an entirely different grunting noise comes out of my throat! Grin

emanresua · 09/10/2021 11:57

Oh yes! All of this!

And I was given a Mr Frosty for Christmas 😂 My mother was wrong about the other things, but she got that one spot-on: it's useless!

leavesthataregreen · 09/10/2021 11:57

You can get slides that go on the stairs!

I so want this. DC are adults now but if they ever produce grand children for me, that's the excuse I need.

overthethamesfromyou · 09/10/2021 12:01

A sports car when I would have looked good in a sports car Smile

Now I'd just look like a woman with a late mid life crisis

HarrisMcCoo · 09/10/2021 12:02

Have had to make peace with... getting no peace.

darumafan · 09/10/2021 12:04

Mine is very similar to minmooch I have accepted that my son died but I don't think that I will ever be at peace with why he had to have had bipolar disorder or that he felt he had to die.

frazzledfragglefromfragglerock · 09/10/2021 12:04

Early retirement (not for want of trying!)

frazzledfragglefromfragglerock · 09/10/2021 12:05

And running another marathon. Stupid broken body.

TokyoTen · 09/10/2021 12:05

Being able to dance properly!

PinkFootstool · 09/10/2021 12:05

Children.

Justcashnosweets · 09/10/2021 12:05

A second child.

TackyJewellery · 09/10/2021 12:07

A wedding.

I'm very ambivalent about marriage in general and will probably never marry, but I would have loved to have been a bride.

DrRamsesEmerson · 09/10/2021 12:07

Flowers for all those who've lost people, or have unloving relatives.

Good singing voice here too. If I could wave a wand and change one thing, that would be it. I'm actually tone deaf, so it will never happen in this life.

Frazzled2207 · 09/10/2021 12:08

A daughter.
I do however have two wonderful sons so I feel very lucky.

Idontlike · 09/10/2021 12:08

A second child.

7 IVFs & 4 MC’s. My mortgage would have been paid off by now if I had accepted it sooner though.

ThesecondLEM · 09/10/2021 12:09

A horse. All my life I've yearned for a horse but like the vast majority this was never affordable. I came close once but am actually now grateful I didn't do it.

Thatsplentyjack · 09/10/2021 12:09

A nice figure. I have love handles and a flat arse no matter how thin I get. No chance could wear a nice fitted/tight dress.

Financial security and probably a big house that we can all fit comfortably in. I just don't see it ever happing for us.

avamiah · 09/10/2021 12:15

I never had a happy childhood.

I’m 48 now but I always remember my dad beating my mum up and her walking to the hospital with a cloth covered in blood over her nose.
I must of been only 6 or 7 as I was in primary school.

Chouradanilova · 09/10/2021 12:15

Trivial I know, but an item of Andrew Grima jewellery.

babouchette · 09/10/2021 12:18

A flat stomach. Literally don't think I have ever had one even when slim everywhere else.

Any kind of sporting ability.

Green fingers.

I am good at other things though so never mind.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 09/10/2021 12:22

A healthy relationship with food.

HeadNorth · 09/10/2021 12:22

Land - I really have made peace with this, as the thread title suggests. Reading this thread I feel so blessed and lucky so not owning a few acres (as opposed to renting them) seems a pretty minor travail in life.

I have not made peace with never seeing my son grow up (he died young) and I never will.

Huge hugs to all those who've never had a mother's love - I must stop being irritated by mine Smile

ShouldersBackChestOutChinUp · 09/10/2021 12:25

A career.

OhWhyNot · 09/10/2021 12:26

A loving protective mother
