I think 26 is only middle aged if you assume you're going to die young. Come to think of it, my mum died before her 60th birthday and so I guess 20-40 was her middle age.

My life started at 41 when I finally had DD . Prior to being in my 40s I'd say 40s was middle aged..now it's 50s...my mil is in her late 70s and says she just reached her middle age...it's all relative. Your 20s is barely out of childhood...enjoy it x

I had a bit of a 'crisis' when I turned 30. I was a twat. 30 is nothing. I've sadly had friends die at 30 and believe you me they were not 'middle aged'. They were young with their whole lives ahead of them. I'm turning 40 next year, I won't consider myself 'middle aged' till at least 45. And maybe not even then.

My son's 26. I was nearly 35 when he was born. I am not middle aged.

average age for a woman is, what 79 - so 37 is slap bang in th e middle and id guess 5 years each way.

I’m 58, I think I’m middle aged. I’m certainly not old.

I always thought middle aged was when you were in the middle of the age you’d live until (not that you’d know). So live until 80, 40 is middle aged to me.
