they want customers to leave their own trolleys near the door of store, its like a designated area there.

i saw a lady today who didnt agree with that.
she said anyone can just pick up her trolley while she is in the deep end of the store.
there is a security guy there with no name tag and you cant trust he wouldnt just leave their position for one reason or another.
also, how he would know which trolley belongs to who.

is she being unreasonable?

I use a four wheeled tartan shopper which I push. If not shopping I use a wwalking stick. If I take my shopper out I can't use a stick as both hands are on the handle of the shopper. So if I had to leave my shopper at the entrance I could not walk round the store. I put the supermarket basket on top of my shopper. If I need more shopping than will fit in a basket I go round twice, buying the heavy stuff first so it goes in the bottom of my shopper, then the rest on the 2nd circuit. I empty the basket on the belt then repack into the basket, then pack in shopper at the shelf. If I had to leave my shopper at the entrance I would not shop there.

they stopped doing it for a couple of months, it was blisfull.
they started doing it again. today i saw a lady with a nice pink empty trolley. she refused to leave the trolley at the entry and went shoping elsewhere.

Ageist and ableist policy since many people who use these do so because they can no longer drive nor carry shopping bags/ruck sack.

Thankfully my elderly parents who use one are Lidl people!

it seems they dont care they lose customers. interesting.

where I am supermarket trolleys have a shelf below for heavy items.
our shopping trolley goes there whilst I do the shopping. I wouldn't leave it in the entrance of the store.
also I want to see if what I'm buying will fit in my trolley.

Which is fine if you are mobile enough to bend and lift something onto a low shelf. My 82 year old MIL wouldn't be able to, for example, as she has balance issues.

Also, if the trolley had shopping in it from other stores, it might not be possible to fit it under a supermarket trolley.

Surely you put your shopping trolley in the aldi trolley

I've never heard the phrase 'sholly' - it is either a shopping trolley, or, if my dc refer to mine "your old lady shopping trolley"

Actually Sholley is a brand of shopping trolleys for the disabled. I have one & id be very peed off if anyone tried to take it off me to leave at the front of the shop

How do you know that ALDI doesn’t make an exception for disabled customers (who are unlikely to nick things and run anyway)?
Also if someone had an empty trolley why didn’t they fold it up?

bluebell34567 · 26/11/2021 23:10

she didnt have the chance to fold it up.
she was told trolleys not allowed in store.
she said 'ok, well. i will go somewhere else'.
she wasnt old or disabled.
