He can't breathe.

He was poorly on weds Eve with a temp. I actually posted on here about it. He's not got better. Continuous cough
Did a test on Friday. No result yet. Called 11 because we hasn't eaten for 5 days. Continuous temp for 5 days. He's so poorly. Has no energy to even sit up and watch the telly.

111 asked us to take him to emergency care
Here.nkw waiting to be seen. He can't catch his breath. He's my only child, my PFB. I can't cope. Husband isn't allowed to be with us. I'm all alone.

doctors have been. He has a lung infection on the right side and bloods show a high infection. There's nothing else wrong with him so he's being treated for the pnumonia. We will be in for 2-5days as long as he responds well. But doctors are very positive he will make a full recovery.he has the iv in his arm and is having the antibiotics through that and he has the toe sticker on which is measuring his oxygen and things incase he needs to go back on o2. He's having his vitals taken every 1-2hours.

Aw glad he’s perked up a bit. I’m sure he’ll be fine in a few days! Take care and look after yourself too.

Wbeezer · 26/09/2021 20:19

Whatever you do don't feel bad for not realising how serious it was: my Dad was a GP, my Mum a nurse and they missed pneumonia in their own children twice Hmm, once when my sister was about one and me when i was 11!

seeyoubugaboo · 26/09/2021 20:20

Dddflower · 26/09/2021 20:21

IfIwasablackbird · 26/09/2021 20:21

Oh @Humpthree! Don’t blame yourself, you did the right thing and I’m so glad to hear he’s on the up.
My DD was in hospital earlier this week and despite previous admissions I was taken by surprise, they are stoic and spiral down so quick but like others have said they bounce back quickly too!
Sending so much love and strength, hope you are home soon! X

Blackopal · 26/09/2021 20:23

Not your fault at all, not a bit of it.

Thinking of you and your little one, they will take care of you and hopefully tomorrow is a much brighter day.

Blackopal · 26/09/2021 20:24

Sherrystrull · 26/09/2021 20:29

RockAndRollBaby · 26/09/2021 20:31

Glad Freddie is on the up. They bounce back quick. Please don't blame yourself. Little ones can go down very quickly. This isn't your fault. Hopefully you will both be able to get some rest tonight. Take care of yourself as well as Freddie Thanks

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 26/09/2021 20:40

It's amazing how quickly antibiotics make you feel better.

opmamatrist · 26/09/2021 20:44

Not your fault at all OP, these things happen and are usually out of our control, so happy to hear he's starting to perk up! Hope he makes a full recovery soon, in the meanwhile try shake off the guilt and make the most of those snuggles with little man! Lots of love xx

londonrach · 26/09/2021 20:44

Hugs and a hand held..he honestly in best place..the staff will really take care of him...not covid times but did was blue lighted twice to hospital due to high temperature...both times being in the ambulance bought her temp down better than any medicationnor calpol.....and she was smiling at staff so having been blue lighted we ended up waiting ...the fact they not rushing to you shows they not worried x

Buttons294749 · 26/09/2021 20:45

How worrying for you. Glad he is in the mend. Antibiotics will help him so much, when my DS Had them he bounced back so quickly, I'm sure your little one will be playing happily soon (quick tip for of you still have to take them at home, the liquid stuff WILL stain the bedding if any dribbles out when you administer at night so keep him off any fancy sheets)
Flowers

londonrach · 26/09/2021 20:45

Good update ..well done Freddie...he doing well to worry his mum x

Chimchar · 26/09/2021 20:53

Glad that he's perking up and that hopefully he'll be on the mend very soon x

Bunnycat101 · 26/09/2021 20:56

That’s a good update.fingers crossed you can get out soon. Little ones go down quick but also seem to bounce back quickly. You’ll feel much better when you can get out of hospital and get back home to your own beds. It would be worth picking up so probiotics as the antibiotics can be rough. After a hospital stint one of mine had quite a long period of not eating well and then suddenly started eating like a horse. She’d lost so much weight you could see it in pictures but she seemed to have a week where her body was telling her to just eat, eat, eat to make up for it- so don’t be surprised. The doctors said not to worry about what she was eating and just get the calories in.

mommybear1 · 26/09/2021 20:58
