Male kitten arrived yesterday. Not entirely anticipated as he has a disability (congenital absence of left back paw) that meant his planned home fell through.

He is very tiny, shy, loves his food.

We would like a “proper” name. Short.

Seamus, Rory and Wilbur are in contention. We can’t agree.

Ideas very much appreciated.

My big ginger boy (RIP) was called Winston and he was brilliant, so I'll suggest that.

3GreenPullups · 19/09/2021 10:49

Love Seamus.

My DS1 is desperate for a kitten that he plans to call Russell. (We have 3 cats whoi hate each other so not getting any more for the forseeable).

Toddlerteaplease · 19/09/2021 10:49

My Cheddar thinks all ginger cats should be called Cheddar!

I like Fox

SageRosemary · 19/09/2021 10:50

Rory is perfect for a red-head (from the Irish for Red King), or Robin (Red Red Robin) or Roy

Here you go. Forgive the mess. He is in DD2’s room. She is fantastic with animals. Not so good at tidying.

Nemo is showing some popularity in the house.

The sweetest thing is - those 2 photos I posted above - were taken within seconds of each other. I literally saw him close his eyes and fall asleep. He is the dearest little soul.

He looks like my old cat who also has a disability, his name was Ralph.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 19/09/2021 10:57

Please don't call him Dave it is so done. Every other dog and cat owner I know has a Dave and they all think they are uniqueHmm
Oscar is nice or Philip if you want retro

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 19/09/2021 10:58

Nemo would be a good choice given his paw.

ThinWomansBrain · 19/09/2021 11:00

he is beautiful, love the one of him curled up asleep

Live with him for a few days - see what suits his character

jinxyminxy · 19/09/2021 11:00

Hamish

He's so very cute

YesItsMeIDontCare · 19/09/2021 11:18

Rufus - it means red-headed.

lljkk · 19/09/2021 11:19

Cheddar is brilliant suggestion.

Silas? Atlas, Jobe, Sisyphus, Jonah, -- seem to fit with your other taste, all have easy short nicknames. Some imply a burden put on them by bigger forces yet found forbearance & perseverance anyway.

NapoleonOzmolysis · 19/09/2021 11:20

Gregory or Douglas.

He looks like he needs a proper man name.

Chickenqueen · 19/09/2021 11:21

Clive

Papergirl1968 · 19/09/2021 11:22

He is gorgeous!
I can’t think of any names although I do like Nemo.
I’ve never heard of that condition. Does he have a missing back paw then? Can he walk and jump ok?
