Carrying on from Thread 1.

Haven't seen the OP around, thread 1 is about to run out and someone asked for a new thread.

OP posts:
Roussette · 29/09/2021 17:32

@queenofarles
I haven't a clue
I'm saying what many other posters have said

No, sorry, even with a 'please' from you, I'm not trawling through hundreds of threads to satisfy you.
Yes it has been discussed many a time, all about the laws that the Queen could do this and would she do this.
If you don't believe me, I don't care lol but I've read it in here lots

Blossom same as you then! You're a very prolific poster on the threads about them. Works both ways

Roussette · 29/09/2021 17:38

@BeckyWithTheAverageHair

You are sooo right.
First of all it was....I give it 18 months, then 2 or 3 years and he'll come crawling back, then 4...now it's gone quiet, as they are happy making their life over there!

queenofarles · 29/09/2021 17:41

Rousette you are contradicting yourself Wink

Blossomtoes · 29/09/2021 17:48

I’m not a prolific poster on threads about the Sussexes @Roussette. I really don’t care about them enough to even open them.

Roussette · 29/09/2021 17:49

Enlighten me! I have no idea how. I've just read back my posts can't see it, sorry
Smile

queenofarles · 29/09/2021 18:38

Rousette I’m not even going to answer that , in most threads you keep saying not to speculate , posters should link factual articles , that people don’t know what happened privately between William and Harry or the Queen, as non of us were there and so on, yet somehow you believe that so many posters wishes Megan and Harry to get divorced and their children to be sent to live with the Queen? As if this ever happened the Queen won’t be the first person to put her foot down to such rubbish protocol.

So no I completely disagree with you Saying "oh I give it a year or 18 months , he will be back crawling "is really not a kin to saying oh it would be worth it see them divorced, what is worth it ? To tear a family apart ?
You don’t need to like William or Catherine , they are not remarkable nor are they the kind to make a big impact , I bet that most find their company boring , but they do seem to be great parents , just like Meghan and Harry are great parents , and Sophie and Edward.

ponyexpress22 · 29/09/2021 18:44

I don't see how we can tell any of them are great parents. We haven't a clue.

TheKeatingFive · 29/09/2021 18:51

It was along the following lines …

How long do you give it? I give it X years tops. Eventually he’ll see through her. Oh and look, here’s an archaic piece of law that says the Queen has legal custody of all the children of her grandchildren. How interesting, do you think she’d actually invoke that?

So no, I don’t think it’s hard to understand the intent there.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/09/2021 18:51

You can hate her as much as you like, but saying that it would be almost worth it For a family to go through a divorce just because you hate their family?

It's not what I said though is it? In fact I said "I'd wish divorce on precisely nobody", but it's the gyrations the horrible Windsors would almost certainly go through to trash her that would fascinate me - and not in a good way, though the extra coffin nail they'd earn themselves in doing so would be a plus IMO

I also said good luck to them with trying that, because frankly I think even they'd have a job on their hands trashing someone who's stuck to the rules as much as Kate. Doesn't mean they wouldn't give it their best shot though ... after all they've had plenty of practice

queenofarles · 29/09/2021 19:02

but can't pretend it wouldn't almost be worth it, you said this too puzzled ,

Puzzledandpissedoff · 29/09/2021 19:07

I know, Queen, but I didn't mean to suggest I was somehow relishing the possibility - only that, if it did happen, it could be another opportunity for the Windsors to show themselves up for what they are (and that I really would enjoy)

Reading it back though, I realise I may have put it clumsily, and if so I genuinely apologise for that

CathyorClaire · 29/09/2021 20:42

those who have abused their position ( and I include selling houses over market rate ) - that should be step 1 to sort out. & preferably quickly

An awful lot of them have abused or at a bare minimum exploited their position for financial gain. The problem is it's both in their interests and - crucially - legally within their power to obstruct and obfuscate enquiry. What we know we have to dig for and once digging it becomes very obvious it's only the tip of the iceberg

In an ideal world I'd start with abolishing those legal privileges.

Roussette · 29/09/2021 22:01

yet somehow you believe that so many posters wishes Megan and Harry to get divorced and their children to be sent to live with the Queen?

So no I completely disagree with you Saying "oh I give it a year or 18 months , he will be back crawling "is really not a kin to saying oh it would be worth it see them divorced, what is worth it ? To tear a family apart ?

I don't think this!

I am only quoting what other posters have said about H&M on many many occasions.

BasiliskStare · 30/09/2021 13:38

Abusing position I was mainly referring to PA making it hard for him to be questioned - that surely has to be no. priority to sort out.

HarrisonStickle · 04/10/2021 08:43

This is more than an embarrassment.

First, to have taxes reduced to lower than local small businesses. Second, shooting estates are seldom seen as environmentally friendly, so why doesn't William start his work a bit closer to home and restore the land on his family's estate?

MyOhMySimon · 04/10/2021 08:55

Shameful! Like adding fuel to fire.

I e said all along this is what would happen. Charles will base himself at Highgrove not BP when he becomes monarch and will pay William £700,000 a year to take it over and let him use it.

Roussette · 04/10/2021 12:39

That is awful Harrison

Roussette · 04/10/2021 13:00

Going back to that link....isn't it ridiculous that PC can say
"nope, I'm not going to work at Head Office even though the job is based at Head Office.
I'm going to work on the other side of the country and leave the 775 roomed premises empty most of the time, and yes I know £370million is being spent on it."

You couldn't make it up. In any other job you'd be sacked!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2021 16:26

If Charles was to move into Buck House, then if Camilla ever intends to spend much time with him - questionable in itself - it would mean her leaving the area of her own home and interests

I doubt she'd want to do that, so right on cue Charles probably won't want it either, and while in theory he could come alone that would raise yet more questions when there are already plenty

Roussette · 04/10/2021 16:29

Yes puzzled

I've been saying for yonks that he was never going to be making BP his base.

Roussette · 04/10/2021 16:29

And Camilla spends much of her time in her family home in Wiltshire, yes.

HarrisonStickle · 04/10/2021 23:37

I felt a bit sorry for the Queen today. I watched some footage from the opening of the Scottish Parliament. She dropped the pen when she was signing, seemed to stumble a bit when getting into her car, then was booed off the premises!

At the SP she talked about the importance of tackling climate change whilst having got out of climate change legislation herself which is supremely hypocritical. I also think she's been given some terrible advice regarding Andrew, and has shown really poor judgement in funding his case.

So, despite me feeling sympathy for an elderly lady faltering in her old age, aspects such as lobbying to have exclusion clauses in legislation and getting the tax on her estate reduced to silly amounts, reminds me that alongside her undoubted sense of duty is also her massive sense of entitlement.

Charles is welcome to live at Highgrove, and Camilla wherever she lives in Wiltshire. Hopefully, it'll help more people see through the facade.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/10/2021 10:00

Charles is welcome to live at Highgrove, and Camilla wherever she lives in Wiltshire

It's Ray Mill House near Lacock - for which, incidentally, we're also paying the security costs

Pity her reluctance to spend much time with her husband has landed that one on us too, but there you go

CathyorClaire · 05/10/2021 10:20

Wills will be doing exactly what Charles has done since he bought Highgrove. The rent is part of the revenue generated by the Duchy and is magically recycled back into the incumbent's pocket.

Charles has effectively been paying himself in the usual game of smoke and mirrors. Much like using Duchy of Cornwall land to grow trees he claimed as personal property then selling them to...the Duchy.
