Met gala party and the rest if the world

I looked at the photos of the 'celebs' attending the Met gala party, obscene amounts of money spent on truly bonkers outfits, all over the top, someone in a suit of armour....kids of famous parents who never had to achieve anything ..... and then seeing Emma Raducanu had been invited.... it felt like I was watching the Hunger Games. Thinking of the poor people in Afghanistan, the desperate migration from Africa to Europe, the people risking their and their kids lives to get to the UK...thinking of America where some people are so poor they can't afford health care. Usually I'm all for a party but honestly, it makes me understand the French revolution.

It reminded me of the Hunger Games too! People saying things like it won’t sole Afghanistan are being a little short sighted you’re obviously not saying it will fix all the world’s problems but it’s part of a bigger problem. I find it grotesque too. It’s like how we all do our little bit like using reusable bags to try and help with climate change but at the same time we have people flying rockets into space basically for fun 🙃. Yes it will advance technology but I don’t think that’s a priority over the climate crisis and perhaps they should spend their billions finding an eco friendly way to do it first.
